غایۃ المامول تو خود ایک مشکوک کتاب ہے جس کی نسبت سیدی احمد برزنجی کی جانب کی جاتی ہے۔ ہندوپاک میں یہ کتاب پہلی بار دیوبندیوں نے شائع کی اور اس کتاب کا اصل عربی نسخہ نا علمائے حجاز کے کتب خانوں میں موجود ہے نا خود دیوبندیوں کے پاس۔ سیدی احمد برزنجی کو حسام الحرمین بھی پڑھ کر سنائی گئی تھی کیونکہ اس وقت وہ بینائی  سے محروم ہوچکے تھے۔ لہذا  بینائی چلے جانے کے بعد اس طرح کی کسی کتاب کی ویسے بھی کیا حیثیت باقی رہ جاتی ہے جس کا مصنف وقتِ تصنیف سے پہلے بینائی کھو چکا ہو، جس  کے اصل مسودے کا کوئی پتہ نہیں۔ شیخ جبرئیل حداد بھی اس کتاب کے بارے میں سوال کے جواب میں لکھتے ہیں۔

 

I do not know the book _Ghayat al-Ma'mul fi `Ilm al-Rasul_ attributed to Sayyid Ahmad al-Barzanji. If he is Ahmad ibn Isma`il ibn Zayn al-`Abidin al-Husayni al-Barzanji (d. 1337/1918-19), no such book appears to be in print under his name. The titles I did find are: 

- Al-Manaqib al-Siddiqiyya (15 pages, Tunis edition, 1306/1889). 
- Irshad al-mujahid ila asbab al-nasr wa al-ajr al-khalid (29 p. Madina, 1914). 
- al-Tahqiqat al-Ahmadiyya fi himayat al-haqiqa al-Muhammadiya (88 p. Cairo, 1326/1908). 
- al-Nasiha al-`amma li Muluk al-Islam wa al-`amma (39 p. Damascus, ~1890) 
- Turkish edition of the latter. 

Based on the above, I have serious doubts that such a Sharif `Alim and Sufi would oppose the like of Shaykh Ahmad Rida Khan on the issue of the Prophet's (ﷺ) knowledge of ghayb, let alone call him epithets. Also, from the wording of Abu Anas's quotations from Ghayat al-Ma'mul, it seems to me that Shaykh Ahmad Rida Khan is nowhere criticized by name, even once! If I am wrong I would appreciate proof in the form of a precise and explicit quotation to that effect.
