Because of his anti-Darwinist, anti-communist and anti-Masonic intellectual struggle, Adnan Oktar has for many years been subjected to conspiracies and slanders by certain dark forces. However, the courts have always acquitted him of these baseless accusations, and they have all been exposed as plots and slander. 1. Adnan Oktar was held in solitary confinement for nine months and then detained for a further 10 months in a mental hospital housing the most dangerous 300 inmates who had committed murders, all for saying “I am a member of the Turkish nation and of the community of Ibrahim.” 7 people were killed by inmates during his time there. 2. After being held in prison and the mental hospital for a total of 19 months, Mr. Oktar was acquitted and released by the court when the Prosecutor’s Office declared there was “no criminal offence in his words.” However, because of the mental report issued in his regard he was for years publicly portrayed as mentally ill and deprived of such rights as to vote or stand for office, to marry, to work for the state or purchase property. This conspiracy also eventually failed when the Military Hospital overturned the report. 3. Mr. Oktar was detained with no justification in 1991, and members of Ergenekon, a communist deep state that had infiltrated the state in Turkey, arranged for cocaine to be detected in his blood stream after being mixed in with his food at the Security Headquarters building. This was confirmed by the Forensic Medicine Institute. Mr. Oktar was acquitted and cleared when the court determined it had been a conspiracy. 4. Mr. Oktar has been the subject of 9 assassination attempts. 5. In 1999, Mr. Oktar and various persons from the BAV circle (Science Research Foundation) were detained by police under the command of Adil Serdar Sacan, who is himself currently detained on charges of being a member of the terrorist organization Ergenekon. Those taken into custody were tortured by personnel at the Security Department, at the order and with the encouragement of Adil Serdar Sacan. As a result of that torture, the detainees were forced to sign untrue statements that had been drawn up beforehand. 6. A journalist by the name of Tuncay Ozkan, who is also currently in custody charged with membership of the communist Ergenekon terrorist organization, was the one who prepared in advance the statements signed under coercion by the detainees and who gave them to the Security Department. After they were signed under coercion the signed versions of these false statements were sent back to Tuncay Ozkan by Adil Serdar Sacan, and Ozkan then used them to wage a smear campaign against the BAV members with full-page reports in the newspapers every day and reports on the television. This clearly and undeniably reveals that it is this communist deep state society behind the conspiracies against Adnan Oktar and the BAV that have been going on for so many years. 7. Under the influence of the police report prepared on the basis of these statements, court proceedings were initiated and some defendants were sentenced to 3 years’ imprisonment. Together with Adnan Oktar, three young women, university graduates who had never seen the inside of a prison or police station or even received a speeding ticket, were also sentenced to 3 years’ imprisonment on the grounds of running a criminal enterprise. These women are intellectual, devout, progressive and secular individuals who believe in creation. 8. Adnan Oktar was deliberately and falsely slandered of a subject regarding sexuality, something to which people are particularly sensitive, in order to sway public opinion. Those responsible for this slander to the effect that a woman was forced at gunpoint to have sexual relations and that this was recorded on camera, made a grave error. THEY FAILED TO CALCULATE THE DIFFERENCES between the house they claim Mr. Oktar lived in and that in which the secret camera recording was made. The joists of the house in which the recording was made are suspended straight down, while there are no joists in Adnan Oktar’s home (hollow block ceiling). In Mr. Oktar’s house the windows are very large, reaching from floor to ceiling, while those in the house in which the recording was made are small, square PVC ones. In order for Adnan Oktar’s home to be the one referred to, it would have to be demolished and totally rebuilt. All this evidence was set out in video film watched in the presence of the court commission, the prosecutor, lawyers and official expert witness, and the court acquitted Mr. Oktar of this false accusation on the basis of the evident difference between the two properties. 9. In his latest legal opinion regarding the case, in which Mr. Adnan Oktar and 5 people from the BAV circle were sentenced to imprisonment, the Public Prosecutor stated that: · All the defendants, including Adnan Oktar, had already been acquitted in the case; · The statements taken under coercion and in the absence of a lawyer were invalid in legal terms, and that this had in addition been accepted by the court hearing the case; · And there was no evidence in the case file to support the charges, And therefore REQUESTED THAT THE DEFENDANTS BE ACQUITTED. Adnan Oktar has never committed a criminal offense, and he rejects this charge. However, he respects the court ruling by all means. Mr. Oktar has already been acquitted in the hearts of all rational people and of the entire Islamic world and Turkish nation. Nobody in Turkey believes he is the leader of a criminal enterprise. He is a man of science, an author known to the whole world. He preaches love, peace, tolerance and compassion, and recommends moral virtues. Lies and plots have never hindered Mr. Oktar’s intellectual struggle in any way whatsoever, and neither will they do so in the future. The hadiths of our Prophet (saas) contain a great deal of detailed information and signs about the End Times that will take place close to Doomsday. According to the information imparted by our Prophet (saas), a great many significant events will take place one after the other at that time. In the first stage of the End Times there will be great corruption and chaos on Earth, and in the second stage peace and security will prevail as people begin living by true religious moral values. In the first stage of the End Times there will be terrible degeneration and chaos among people because of various philosophical systems that inculcate atheism and irreligion by their refusal to accept the existence of Almighty Allah (God). Humanity will turn away from the purpose behind its creation, leading to enormous spiritual emptiness and moral degeneration. There will be terrible disasters, wars and famines, and all people will seek the answer to the question, How can we be saved? in order to bring these troubles to an end. The majority of these developments related as portents of the End Times in the hadiths of our Prophet (saas) have taken place in our time, just as reported. The recent growing rise in war and conflict, terror, violence, anarchy and chaos, slaughter and torture are a sign that the first stage of the End Times is now taking place. According to the information in the hadiths of our Prophet (saas), Allah will rescue people from the chaos of the End Times after this period of darkness and bestow a great salvation upon them. Allah will make the Mahdi, in other words a servant with superior moral values and who bears the title of he who leads to the truth, lead people who have turned their backs on proper moral values and societies that have suffered degeneration to the true path. By the will of Allah, the Mahdi will enable humanity to live by true Qur’anic moral values by ridding Islam of all corruption and superstition. In the first stage of the End Times, he will resolve all the chaos, social problems and societal difficulties facing humanity and will be a means whereby happiness, peace, security and proper moral values prevail over the entire world. THE SPIRITUAL ATTRIBUTES OF THE MAHDI Various features of the Mahdi are described in several of the hadiths of our Prophet (saas). The spiritual attributes of the Mahdi that we shall be examining in the light of these hadiths are all important guides to our being able to recognize this great individual of the End Times. In these hadiths that we are looking at, our Prophet (saas) provides a great deal of descriptive information about the spiritual attributes of the Mahdi. He has reported that the Mahdi’s moral values resemble his own, and praised his fear of Allah and moral virtues. Our Prophet (saas) stated that the Mahdi would be a very valuable personage who would be a means whereby people attain salvation in this world and in the Hereafter. He also told people to abide by him even if it means crawling over snow when the Mahdi appears. The period we are living in is the period awaited for the last fourteen hundred years, when this historic event related by our Prophet (saas) has drawn near. All Muslims who are aware of this fact and who wish to attain the honor of being at the Mahdi’s side when he appears must carefully read the information described throughout this article and imparted in the hadiths of our Prophet (saas), and must grasp all means of accurately identifying this holy individual. Because the careful study and examination of this information will, by Allah’s leave, be a guide to the recognition of this holy personage. There can be no doubt that preparing the ground for and assisting such a holy individual who will be a means whereby Islam returns to its true essence and Qur’anic moral values prevail over all the world is an important responsibility for Muslims. Being one of those close to such a blessed individual as the Mahdi, being able to support him and being able to help in his work aimed at the benefit of all humanity is a great blessing and honor for all believers. The Mahdi is a holy personage, the tidings of whose sending in the End Times have been imparted by our Prophet (saas), who will free Muslims from a climate of oppression and trouble, who will eliminate the strife on Earth and bring peace, justice, plenty, happiness and well-being to all the world. According to reliable accounts transmitted from our Prophet (saas), the Mahdi will restore the faith, which has been turned away from its true essence with various superstitious beliefs and practices, to that original nature, will meet with the Prophet ‘Isa , and will, by Allah’s leave, be a means whereby the moral values of Islam, the one true faith, come to prevail over the whole world. He Will Be A Fighter According to what we are told in the hadiths of our Prophet (saas), the Mahdi will be a role model for all believers, both with his superior moral values and with his powerful, fighter character: The Mahdi will be dedicated to his work. (Portents of the Last Day, Barzanji, p. 175) The Mahdi will perform his duties scrupulously and will not go back on his word. (The Book of Portents of the Mahdi of the End Times, p. 24) The Mahdi will appear from the East. Even if mountains rise up before him he will crush and cross them, and he will find a path for himself in those mountains. (The Book of Portents of the Awaited Mahdi, p. 39) He Will Fear Allah The more a person fears Allah, the closer he draws to Him. That is because fear of Allah brings with it the devotion and love felt for Almighty Allah. As is stated in the hadiths of our Prophet (saas), the fear of Allah possessed by the Mahdi will be exceedingly powerful: Mahdi is a person who, as the shaking of a bird’s wings, has a deep fear for Allah. (The Book of Portents of the Awaited Mahdi of the End Times [Al- Burhan fi `Alamat al-Mahdi al-Muntadhar], p. 23) His Maintenance and Observance of the Bounds Set by Allah Even a word uttered against Islam offends his feelings. (Ibn Hajar Al-Makki, “Al-Qawl al-Mukhtasar fi `Alamat al-Mahdi al-Muntadhar”, p. 15-75) He Will Be Virtuous Almighty Allah has dispatched many emissaries throughout history. It is reported in the Qur’an that the emissaries possess excellent moral values. In the verse, “Indeed you are truly vast in character.” (Surat al-Qalam, 4), it is reported that our Prophet Muhammad (saas) possessed superior moral virtues. As we are told in the hadiths, the Mahdi, a holy envoy of Allah, will also possess this attribute: Mahdi is extremely submissive towards Allah. In moral terms, he is like the Prophet (saas). (Portents of the Last Day, Barzanji, p.163) A child of mine whose morality is similar to me will emerge. (Al-Burhan fi `Alamat al-Mahdi Akhir az-Zaman, p. 21) He Will Behave Justly Abu Jafar Muhammad ibn Ali Said: “When the Mahdi from our Ahl al-Bayt emerges, he will distribute the goods equally. He treats the people justly. Whoever submits him, he would submit to Allah. He is named as the Mahdi. That is because He will guide to a secret (unknown) deed.” (Mer’iy ibn Yusuf ibn Abu Bakr ibn Ahmad ibn Yusuf al-Makhdi, “Faraidu Fawaidil Fikri fi Imamil Mahdi al-Muntadhar”) Just as how the earth was full of cruelty and injustice, Mahdi will fill it with justice and righteousness. (Ali Ibn Sultan Muhammad al Qaari “Risalat Mashrab al Vardi fi Mazhabi’l Mahdi) He Will Be Greatly Loved by All The measure that believers observe in loving someone is that person’s closeness to, love and fear of and devotion to Allah. For that reason, whoever most manifests the titles of our Lord that is the person who is most loved and respected by believers. Indeed, the envoys were people who most manifested the titles of Almighty Allah and who exhibited the highest virtues in terms of faith. Our Prophet (saas) has indicated that the Mahdi will be the best-loved individual of the age during the End Times: Allah (c.c.) will fill all people’s hearts with his (Mahdi’s) love. (Al-Khavlu’l Mukhtasar Fi Alamat al-Mahdi al-Muntadhar, p. 42) No individual who will not be pleased with the ummah of the Muhammad will remain. (Portents of the Last Day, Barzanji, p. 163) Abu Abdullah Nuaym ibn Hammad related from Abdullah ibn Masud as follows: Allah will place his [Mahdi’s] love in people’s hearts. This way they will be a community who become lions during the day and spend their nights in worship. (Ukayli “En-Necmu’s-sakıb fi Bayanı Anna’l Mahdi min Avladı Ali ibn Abu Talib Ala’t-Tamam va’l Kamal”) The people of the earth and heavens, and even the birds in the sky will assent to his caliphate. (Al-Khavlu’l Mukhtasar Fi Alamat al-Mahdi al-Muntadhar, p. 29) He Will Be the Most Auspicious of the Time The world, which will be in a state of chaos in the period when the Mahdi appears, will begin experiencing an enlightened age by means of him. Through him, much that is auspicious will take place. It is reported in the hadiths of our Prophet (saas) that the Mahdi will be the most auspicious person of the age: Join the person who is the most auspicious of the ummah of the Muhammad and your guardian who removes the difficulties…He is the Mahdi. (Al-Burhan fi `Alamat al-Mahdi Akhir az-Zaman, p. 57) He will be the most auspicious of his time. (Al-Qawl al-Mukhtasar fi `Alamat al-Mahdi al-Muntadhar, p. 27) Mahdi is the most auspicious of the people (in his time.) (Al-Burhan fi `Alamat al-Mahdi Akhir az-Zaman, s. 58) “Mahdi is the most auspicious of people.” (Ali ibn Sultan Muhammad al-Khari al-Hanafi “Risalatul Mashrab alvardi fi mazhabil Mahdi”) The Power of His Message The hadiths below concerning the power of the Mahdi’s message are interpreted in different ways in addition to their apparent meanings. One of these interpretations may take this form: By turning to someone who is compared to a dry tree and being a means whereby they come to the truth, the Mahdi will make this person, who was formerly of no use to his surroundings, just like a dry tree, useful to his surroundings, like a tree that has flourished and borne fruit, in other words to his state, nation, faith and all of humanity. When the Mahdi plants a dry tree, the tree will immediately turn green and sprout. (Al-Qawl al-Mukhtasar fi `Alamat al-Mahdi al-Muntadhar, p. 43) He (the Mahdi) will plant a dry seed in a dry land, and it will at once turn green and sprout. (Portents of the Last Day, Barzanji, p. 165) Similarly, it is reported in the hadiths below that someone who was previously ignorant, parsimonious and timid will become generous and courageous in the End Times through the message and teaching of the Mahdi, and that he will change his character, just like a tree that was formerly dry and unproductive flourishing and bearing leaves: In his age, an ignorant, parsimonious and timid man will immediately become learned, generous and courageous. (Portents of the Last Day, Barzanji, p. 186) His Wisdom and Power of Understanding It is reported in the hadiths that the Mahdi will have a special power bestowed on him by Allah: He is called the Mahdi, for he is the holder of a secret power nobody is able to know. (The Portents of the Mahdi of the End Times, Ali ibn Husamaddin Al Muttakhi, Kahraman Publishing House. p. 77) Muhyiddin Arabi, one of the great Islamic scholars, has set out in his works nine of the main noteworthy characteristics of the Mahdi: 1. He has foresight 2. He understands the Holy Book 3. He knows the meaning of the verses 4. He knows the condition and actions of the people he will appoint 5. He remains compassionate and just even when angered 6. He knows the classes of entities 7. He knows the hidden sides of matters 8. He has a good understanding of people’s needs 9. He knows the secret knowledge particularly needed in his own time. He Preserves the Truth in the Face of Oppressors Hafiz Abu Abdullah Nuaym ibn Hammad has reported from Jafar ibn Yasar A-sami in his book Fiten: The Mahdi will defend the truth against the oppressors. Indeed, he will extract the molar tooth (anything unjustly held) of a (cruel) person and restore it to its rightful owner. (An-Nacmu’s-Saqib fi Bayanı Anna’l Mahdi min Avladı Ali b. Abu Talib Ale’t-Temam ve’l Qamal) The Surveillance – Following – of the Mahdi When the Dajjal appears, a person among the believers (the Mahdi) turns against him. Then, many armed men, those armed men charged with surveillance in Dajjal’s headquarters oppose him. (Muslim, related from v. 11/s. 393) At the beginning of the hadiths it is reported that the Mahdi will be subjected to surveillance by the supporters of the Dajjal. We also learn from the Qur’an that some prophets struggling on the path of Allah had also been subjected to surveillance in earlier periods, and that the aim had been to thus keep them under control: He is nothing but a man possessed so wait a while and see what happens to him. (Surat al-Muminun, 25) He Will Face Troubles and Difficulties Most of the envoys sent to warn peoples living far removed from religious moral values and to call them to the true path have been rejected by the peoples to whom they were sent and subjected to various false accusations and slanders. We are told in hadiths that the Mahdi, who will be descended from the line of the Prophet (saas), will also encounter such troubles and difficulties. (Allah knows best.) Our Prophet (saas) stated: The Mahdi is among us, one from the Ahl al-Bayt…We are such a household that, for us, Allah preferred the Hereafter over this world. After me, my Ahl al-Bayt will surely be subjected to trouble, abduction and banishment. After me, my Ahl al-Bayt will meet trouble and torment, and be subjected to expulsion. (Al-Burhan fi `Alamat al-Mahdi Akhir az-Zaman, p.14) …Mahdi will emerge at a time when, one after another, disasters befall people and people lose hope of his appearance. He prays two rakaat. When he returns from the prayer he says: “People! The Ummah of Muhammad and especially his Ahl al-Bayt have undergone many troubles…” (Al-Burhan fi `Alamat al-Mahdi Akhir az-Zaman, p. 55) Those troubles befalling the one who is profound and strong in his faith are grand. (Ibn Hibban) He Will Appear With Sacred Objects We are told in many hadiths that the Mahdi will emerge from a place where there are sacred objects and that he will be the first person to open these. One of these hadiths reads: Naim ibn Hammad related from Abu Jaffar; “Mahdi emerges at the time of night with our Prophet’s banner, shirt, sword, signs, light and beautiful expression.”(Ali Ibn Sultan Muhammad al-Qaari al-Hanafi “Risalat Mashrab al Vardi fi Mazhabi’l Mahdi) He [the Mahdi] will emerge with the Prophet’s banner. That banner has four edges and is seam-free and its color is black. There exists a ring above it. That banner has not been opened since the time our Prophet passed away and it will be opened when Mahdi emerges. (Portents of the Mahdi of the Akhir Zaman, Ali ibn Husamattin Al Muttaki, p. 22) He Will Be Grateful to Allah Alone When we examine the stories of the prophets in the Qur’an we see that they have turned to Allah under all circumstances. We also learn of their sincere devotion to Allah and the love and fear they felt towards Him from the Qur’an. As emphasized in the hadiths below, this characteristic will also be seen in the Mahdi: “Mahdi is one of us, one of the Ahl-i Bayt. He is a person who does not feel grateful to anyone other than Allah.” (as-Suyuti, al-Havi, 2/24) There Will Be Black Propaganda about the Mahdi The supporters of the Dajjal, the enemy of Islam, will blacken the name of the Mahdi in written and verbal media and will attempt to weaken his prestige in the public eye. This is indicated as follows in one of the hadiths: When that Muslim personage (the Mahdi) sees the Dajjal, he says: “People! This is the Dajjal of whom the Prophet (saas) mentioned.” Dajjal gives his order about him right away and that person is laid upon his stomach and from his back it is said: “Take him and beat him.” Then that person’s back and stomach is broadened by beating. This time he [the Dajjal] grabs him by his two hands and two feet and hurls him. People assume Dajjal throws him into a fire. But in fact he is thrown away to the Garden. (Mahdism and Imamism, Ibrahim Suleymanoglu, p. 40) We are told in the hadiths that the Mahdi will be broadened by being beaten on his back and stomach. The author of the book says in reference to this section that the Mahdi’s fame will constantly be declared and disseminated. Yet since it is the supporters of the Dajjal who will do this, it may be said that this propaganda will blacken the name of the Mahdi. However, although this may appear to be infelicitous at first sight, it will be a means whereby the Mahdi is recognized and whereby the moral values of Islam are spread. He Will Be Far from Sight Naim ibn Hammad reported thus from Abu Jafar: ...At nights he will be engaged in worship while he will be hidden during the day... (Ukayli “An-Najmu’s-sakıb fi Bayanı Anna’l Mahdi min Awladi Ali ibn Abu Talib Ala’t-Tamam va’l kamal”) He Will Be Supported by Angels In the majority of stories about the prophets it can be seen that they were always supported by help from Allah in communicating their message of religious moral values or whenever they encountered a difficult situation. In the same way that this assistance might reach the prophets in a moment, or take various forms such as natural phenomena, it also took place with help from angels. In one of the hadiths, our Prophet (saas) has revealed that Allah will help the Mahdi by means of angels: “Allah (cc) will help him (the Mahdi) by means of three angels. They will beat the faces and backs of those who oppose him (the Mahdi).” (Ikdu’d Durer, p. 12) He Will Know What is Lawful and Unlawful Since the Mahdi will possess superior moral virtues and have a powerful fear of Allah, he will know Almighty Allah’s bounds and what is lawful and unlawful: Hussain was asked: “By what signs will the Mahdi be known?” He replied: “By his ease of heart and dignity, by his knowing what is lawful and unlawful.” (Fera Idu Fevaidi'l Fiqr Fi'l Imam al-Mahdi al-Muntadhar) He Will Be Compassionate Towards the Poor The infinite compassion of Allah is recalled at the end of many verses in the Qur’an. In addition, the Qur’an commands believers to “be one of those who believe and urge each other to steadfastness and urge each other to compassion.” (Surat al-Balad, 17) Our Almighty Lord’s title of The Most Compassionate of the Compassionate is manifested in all prophets and believers. We are told in one hadiths that the Mahdi will also be exceptionally compassionate: “His exercising discipline over those working for him, his distribution of goods generously and his being very compassionate towards the poor are the signs of the Mahdi.” Fera Idu Fevaidi'l Fiqr Fi'l Imam al-Mahdi al-Muntadhar”, Islamic Scholars’ Views about the Mahdi, p. 133, Footnote number: 26, Kopru Publishing House.) The Mahdi’s sign is his being disciplined on those working for him, his generosity about goods, and his compassion for the oppressed.” (Ukayli “An-Nacmu’s-sakib fi Bayanı Anna’l Mahdi min Avladı Ali b. Abu Talib Ale’t-Tamam va’l Kamal) He Will Assume All Responsibilities He assumes all responsibilities and helps the poor and those in need. (M. Muhyiddin Arabi “Futuhat-Al Makkiya”, 366. bab, v. 3, p. 327- 328) He Will Disappear Twice The way that the Mahdi will disappear twice appears in this form in the hadiths of our Prophet (saas): “The one who will fulfill this deed (the Mahdi) will hide twice. One of these will lengthen to such an extent that some of them will say, “He is dead” whereas others will say, “He has gone.” Neither those who love him nor others will know his whereabouts. Only his servant who is very close to him knows his place. (Al-Saa Fi Eshrad-is Saa” p. 93, Egyptian edition.) He Will Not Declare His Needs One of the most important characteristics of the Mahdi is that he will not declare his needs: Hussain was asked: “By what signs will the Mahdi be known?” He replied: “... People will need of him but he will express his needs to no one.” (Fera Idu Fevaidi'l Fiqr Fi'l Imam al-Mahdi al-Muntadhar”) He Will Possess Exemplary Virtues Almighty Allah has sent envoys to issue warnings in all periods, and they have been charged with telling people of the true faith. However, their message was not limited to expounding religious moral values, and they were role models with their behavior and attitudes. The exemplary moral virtues of the Mahdi are reported as follows in one hadith: Divine superior virtues inspired by Allah reach him. He receives knowledge of the faith and exemplary moral virtue from Allah. (Konavi Risalet-ul Mahdi, p. 161 He Will Know the Science of Numerology Some of them said this book that has reached maturity is attributed to the appearance of Mahdi who is expected to appear in the End Times. He is very competent of the science of jifr and its secrets. This knowledge is the kind of wisdom that reached from the books endowed to the prophets of the past. (Mahdism and Imamism, Ibrahim Suleymanoglu, p. 252)

The world has been living side by side with terror for hundreds of years. Even though actions may differ from country to country, all terrorist organizations aim at defenseless civilians and send their messages by way of these people. In the terrorist attack in Oklahoma in the USA 167 people were savagely slaughtered, 19 of them children. A fanatical Jew who opened a hail of fire on Muslims praying in a mosque in Palestine caused the deaths of 29 people. Thousands of people have lost their lives in attacks against Muslims in India over the years. Terrorist attacks both great and small have for years been perpetrated in France, Spain, the Philippines, Japan and Ireland. One could go on. However, the entire world came face to face with terror in 2001. In the wake of the attacks against two major cities in the USA which led to the deaths and injuries of thousands of people, the concept of “terrorism” began to be debated once again. That was because that attack had been carried out at an unexpected time, against a country regarded as the world’s only superpower, and in a totally unforeseen manner. The attack created an air of fear and panic all over the world, especially in America. Following the attacks, the USA embarked on a major fight against terror. Many countries have lined up alongside America in this struggle, and lent their support to it. The series of bombings in Istanbul, just when it was thought that the forces of terror had been brought under control, again reminded people of terrorism’s dark face: first synagogues, then the British Consulate, then the HSBC General Directorate building … The Saturday prayer, which had been performed for centuries, was interrupted by the bombs exploded on November 15th. Twenty-four people were killed in the explosions at the Neva Shalom synagogue at Beyoglu Kuledibi and the Beth Israel synagogue at Sisli, and 300 were injured. Dozens of more people lost their lives in the explosions at the British Consulate and the HSBC building, and hundreds were injured. Images similar to those which followed the September 11 attacks began appearing on our television screens. Ruined buildings, people fleeing in panic, burned out busses, corpses lying in the streets … The point we wish to emphasize in this article is the Islamic perspective on terror attacks and the killing of the innocent. All forms of terrorist attack are roundly condemned in Islam. According to the Qur'an, it is a great sin to kill an innocent person, and anyone who does so will suffer great torment in the Hereafter: … If someone kills another person—unless it is in retaliation for someone else or for causing corruption in the earth—it is as if he had murdered all mankind. And if anyone gives life to another person, it is as if he had given life to all mankind. Our Messengers came to them with Clear Signs, but even after that, many of them committed outrages in the earth. (Qur’an, 5:32) This verse equals the killing of one innocent to slaughtering all of humanity! Another verse expresses the importance that the faithful attach to life: Those who do not appeal to any other deity besides God [alone]; nor kill any soul whom God has forbidden [them to] except with the right to do so; nor fornicate. Anyone who does so will incur a penalty. (Qur’an, 25:68) In yet another verse, God issues the following commandment: Say: "Come, and I will recite to you what your Lord has forbidden for you": that you do not associate anything with Him; that you are good to your parents; that you do not kill your children because of poverty—We will provide for you and them; that you do not approach indecency—outward or inward; that you do not kill any person God has made inviolate—except with the right to do so. That is what He instructs you to do, so that hopefully, you will use your intellect. (Qur’an, 6:151) Any Muslim who believes in God with a sincere heart, who scrupulously abides by His verses and fears suffering in the Hereafter, will avoid harming even one other person. He knows that the Lord of Infinite Justice will suitably reward him for all his deeds. In one of the hadiths, our Prophet (may God bless him and grant him peace) listed the kinds of people who are not pleasing to God: "Those who act cruelly and unjustly in the sacred lands, those who yearn for the ways of the ignorant, and those who wrongly shed human blood." (Sahih Bukhari Hadith) Another element we wish to concentrate on is the attack on devout Turkish Jews worshipping in their synagogues. Churches, synagogues and mosques are houses for the worship of God. It is a terrible crime in the sight of God to slaughter innocent people as they worship in their churches, synagogues or mosques. These are houses where the name of God is remembered, praised and recited. In the Qur’an, , God reveals that: … God guides to His Light whoever He wills and God makes metaphors for mankind and God has knowledge of all things. In houses which God has permitted to be built and in which His name is remembered, there are men who proclaim His glory morning and evening. (Qur’an, 24:35-36) The people who go to those places are devout, prayerful people. All houses where the name of God is remembered are sacred in the eyes of Islam. Visitors to these houses may be Jews, Christians or Muslims. The important thing is that each one is a devout believer in God. A Muslim must respect and protect the holy places where the People of the Book worship God, and protect them. For Muslims, these places are precious because in these places, people, whether Jews or Christians, remember God. In the Qur'an, the places of worship of the People of the Book, ie. monasteries, churches and synagogues, are mentioned as places of worship protected by God. …f God had not driven some people back by means of others, monasteries, churches, synagogues and mosques, where God's name is mentioned much, would have been pulled down and destroyed. God will certainly help those who help Him—God is All-Strong, Almighty. (Qur'an, 22:40) As a manifestation of his loyalty to God's commands, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was most careful not to destroy the holy places of the People of the Book. Such destruction means, in the first place, opposing God's commands. This aside, it means preventing people who have faith in God worshipping Him. Indeed, the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) promised the Christians, who were the other party to a peace agreement he made, that their churches would not be destroyed and that they would never be harmed. The tax (Jizya) agreements he made with Christians also guaranteed the safety of churches. The first agreement made after the death of the Prophet (pbuh) that guaranteed the protection of the temples was a tax agreement Khalid bin al-Waleed signed with the leader of the city of Anat. Ibn Ishaq stated that those agreements made by Khalid bin al-Waleed were also approved by Abu Bakr and the three caliphs following him. This aside, Abu Bakr offered the same guarantees that had been offered to the people of Najran by the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh). The Islamic societies that abided by Islamic morality after the death of the Prophet (pbuh) also paid special attention to this issue. Muslim leaders who adhered to the Qur'an and the Sunnah (the sayings and doings of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh)) respected the places of worship of non-Muslims in conquered countries and showed great tolerance to the clergy. Terror Will Disappear When People Come to Live by the Moral Values of Islam In the Qur'an (32:9), God reveals that He has breathed His Spirit into man, His creation, and that man is His representative on Earth (Qur'an, 6:165). One of the most important differences between man and the animals is that man was created with both earthly desires and with a conscience. Every person possesses desires that incite him to evil, along with a conscience that inspires him to avoid it. Alongside such pleasing attributes inspired by that conscience-love, sacrifice, compassion, humility, affection, honesty, loyalty and kindness-he also possesses destructive and undesirable tendencies, stemming from his earthly desires. Thanks to his conscience, however, the believer can distinguish between right and wrong and opt for what is morally right. Strong belief in and fear of God, faith in the Hereafter, powerful fear of the endless torments of Hell and a yearning for Paradise all keep the temptations of his earthly desires at bay. Therefore, he always behaves well towards people, is forgiving, responds to wickedness with good, assists those in need, and shows compassion, love, affection and tolerance. Terrorists, on the other hand, listen to their earthly desire for violence instead of their consciences, and can easily turn to all forms of wickedness. They become loveless, aggressive people who easily hurt others without the slightest pang of conscience. Having no fear of God, they do not know the morality of religion, nor do they practice it. Nothing can stop them from committing crimes. In restraining its citizens, society's prevailing rules can go only so far. Thanks to its law enforcement units, the state may be able to partially protect streets and public spaces, and-thanks to a powerful system of justice-may be able to take necessary means to ensure public order and ensure that the crime rate drops. But since it's impossible to keep watch on every individual, 24 hours a day, it's essential that peoples' consciences enter the equation at some stage. Someone who doesn't heed the voice of his conscience can easily turn to crime when on his own, or surrounded by people of like mind. That being the case, a model of society emerges which is composed of individuals who lie when necessary, have no hesitation about making unjust profits, and feel no unease about oppressing the weak. It is clear that physical precautions and measures will bear no fruit in a society which has no fear of God and which has lost its spiritual values. Religious moral values, on the other hand, command a person to refrain from evil, even if he is all alone, even if nobody will punish him for his evil deeds. It is evident that a person who knows that he will be called to account in the presence of God for his every deed, his every decision and his every word, and that he will be suitably rewarded for these in the eternal life of the Hereafter, will scrupulously avoid committing evil. Terrorist organizations can't possibly have any place in a society whose people avoid evil of their own free will. Where religion's morality prevails, problems that give rise to organizations supporting the use of violence will disappear naturally. If the whole society possesses superior virtues like honesty, sacrifice, love and justice, there can be no place for such things as poverty, unequal distribution of income, injustice, the oppression of the weak, or limitations on freedoms. On the contrary, a social order will emerge that meets the wants of the needy; where the wealthy protect the poor and the strong, the weak; where everyone can enjoy the very best health care, education, and transport systems. There, tolerance and understanding will dominate the relationships between different ethnic groups, religions and cultures. For these reasons, proper morality is the key to solving so many social problems. The source of that key, in turn, is the Qur'an, which God has revealed as a guide for mankind. It must not be forgotten that unless necessary measures are taken, unless deep-rooted solutions are brought in, the 21st century will continue to be a time of terror and violence, just as the 20th was before it. The homes of innocent people will be bombed, and women and children will be slaughtered. The ideological fight against terrorism, therefore, must be started with great urgency, to include very great numbers of people. This fight will be fought on the level of ideas-between people who believe in God, who are loving, forgiving, compassionate and in full possession of their conscience; and those who draw their strength from ignorance and violence. In one verse, our Lord reveals, "Why were there not people with good sense among the generations of those who came before you, who forbade corruption in the earth…" (Qur'an, 11:116). Believers should possess the virtue that God describes in that verse. While terrorists hope to achieve their aims by violence, believers know that true success can be achieved only by clinging tightly to the religion of God, and acting accordingly. Jews, Christians, and Muslims will join together in that struggle, in a spirit of respect for all beliefs and ideas and, by the will of God, enjoy definitive success. This is God's promise to all His believing servants, which will definitely come true. At this point, a great responsibility falls on all true believers, no matter what their religion. Jews must not ignore Old Testament statements calling mankind to peace and tolerance, and they must call on all other Jews to oppose terrorism. So should Christians call on all other Christians, taking as their guide the morality most pleasing to God. One should not forget that terrorism stems from wrong ideas and the basic struggle against terrorism should be on the level of ideas. Believers must explain that these ideas are wrong, and that no idea can prevail by means of violence, oppression and cruelty; and despotism can never bring about beauty. Terrorist ideology is built on sand. Its foundations can easily be swept away by mobilizing a proper education campaign. Sincere believers in all parts of the world can help end the ignorance that breeds terrorism by searching for solutions, writing books and articles, promoting educational activities and disseminating their own cultural heritage. The prevalence of tolerance, peace and security on the Earth, as commanded by God, will make terrorism disappear into the pages of history forever. Adopting a defeatist, pessimistic attitude in the face of terror is unacceptable. Our hope is that this suffering will not be repeated, and that all measures will be adopted to that end. May God have mercy on those who died in those hateful attacks, and may He heal the injured. Our sincere condolences to all mankind. DARWINISM HAS COLLAPSED Reports of the collapse of Darwinism are coming in from all over the world! ‘Truth has come and falsehood has vanished. Falsehood is always bound to vanish.’ (Surat Al-Isra , 81) Public opinion polls in 34 leading countries show an avalanche of belief in creation across the world and that the theory of evolution has begun to disappear. One of these countries in which the number of believers in evolution is the smallest is “Turkey”. Ever since it was first put forward, people have been indoctrinated with the theory of evolution by means of a wide range of propaganda techniques, as a result of which it has been widely accepted by sections of society lacking the means to research it. However, the theory of evolution has now lost all its foundations in the face of present-day scientific developments. Anyone who follows scientific publications can clearly see that the theory of evolution is facing a major predicament. All the research carried out has totally discredited claims that living things came into existence by chance. Indeed, many evolutionists now openly admit that it is impossible for Darwinism to explain the origin of life. Evolutionists used the primitive level of technology in the past to deceive people – literally by casting a spell over them – for decades. However, there has been a comprehensive intellectual struggle against Darwinism all over the world in the last 20 years, particularly in Turkey. The Turkish public has been made aware of evolutionist deceptions by means of this struggle and of the Creation surrounding us. This intellectual struggle has also had an impact all over the world. Indeed, when one brings together recent developments we can see that a number of very significant changes have taken place in the world. In particular, a number of successive reports in the Turkish and foreign press have made this change crystal clear. The results of a number of public opinion polls have revealed that there is a very powerful general trend towards Creationism and that this has caused great consternation among evolutionists. The statistics obtained show that many people no longer believe in evolution. In addition, the way that many well-known scientists have turned to God by admitting that living things were created is a striking development showing that the theory of evolution has reached the end of the road and that the number of its adherents is decreasing day by day. The common factor among the factors leading to this change noted by experts is the quality, variety and spread of the studies revealing the invalidity of the theory of evolution. Some striking reports recently published regarding the strengthening of belief in creation, which has for some time now occupied an important place in the world press, and the way that people are turning in the direction of religious moral values are collected below: A number of significant developments in recent years have accelerated the great collapse of materialism, which has in turn led to the end of the theory of evolution. Some of these developments are: • Scientists conducting experiments aimed at exceeding the speed of light made a finding that overturned all scientific assumptions. They witnessed that in an experimental environment in which the speed of light was exceeded many times the result of the experiment actually occurred before its cause. This meant the demolition of the claim of “causality,” proposed in the 19th century on the basis of materialist foundations. The subject was summarized in the words “it has been proved that an effect without a cause is possible, and that the end of an event can occur before its beginning” in one newspaper headline. Indeed, the effect of a phenomenon occurring prior to the one seen as its cause is scientific proof that all events are created separately and completely overturn materialist dogma. • The Human Genome Project conducted in order to unravel the genetic structure of man has been brought to a conclusion and the details of “genetic data” revealing that Allah has brought living things into being with a Sublime Creation have been made clear for all to see. Anyone today who examines the results of this project and learns that a single human cell contains sufficient information to fill thousands of encyclopaedia pages will understand just what a great creation this truly is. REPORTS OF THE COLLAPSE OF DARWINISM Opponents Of Evolution In Europe Are Growing In Numbers A special report in the major scientific journal Nature noted that Turkey was the country with the strongest creationist movement. Nature, 23 November, 2006. In its 23rd November, 2006, edition the world-renowned scientific magazine Nature carried a special report titled “Anti-evolutionists raise their profile in Europe”. The report discussed the places occupied by evolution and creation in school curricula in such European countries as Italy, Germany, Poland, France and Great Britain. It also referred to the work of the Science Research Foundation in Turkey: “The movement is by far the strongest in Turkey, however, which is in negotiations to join the European Union. The main Muslim creationist organization [is] the Turkish Bilim ve Arastirma Vakfi… Prominent US creationists are also frequently invited by the group to give talks. Additionally, the report discussed the debate stemming from the teaching of the fact of creation in certain schools in Germany and the removal of the theory of evolution from the middle school curriculum at the wish of Italian Minister of Education Letizia Moratti. It also cited examples of research carried out by groups in Russia espousing the fact of creation and stated that there was a rapid rise in the number of people supporting creation in Great Britain in particular: Steve Jones, a geneticist at University College London who has lectured widely about evolution, is one of those concerned by the growing influence of creationist groups. ‘I have talked about evolution in front of more than 100,000 British schoolchildren in the past 20 years – during most of that time I was never asked questions about creationism,’ he says. ‘But in the past couple of years, wherever I go I am asked about it.’” At the end of the report, Jones said that he believed that the theory of evolution would never be weakened in European countries as it had been in the USA, and that evolution would always remain powerful, but that he had concerns when it came to Turkey. In reference of the state of Darwinism in Turkey the Darwinist geneticist Steve Jones describes how evolution has collapsed: “I am not very hopeful for Turkey…” Creation Museums and the Rise of Global Creationism Harvard University, one of the world’s leading scientific centres, has also determined that “creationism is growing increasingly stronger in the world and that it is the work of the Science Research Foundation (SRF) that represents the global centre of this.” In the latest edition of the book The Creationists, from Scientific Creationism to Intelligent Design, a special section has been set aside for the SRF’s work setting out the fact of creation. A report headed Creation Museums and the Rise of Global Creationism on a web site belonging to the university summarised the section in question as follows: An unusual phenomenon that seems to be popping up a lot lately--the creation museum. America's first one is set to open this spring in Petersburg, Kentucky. The $26.4 million facility boasts animatronic dinosaurs and a state-of-the-art SFX theater, all designed to convince visitors that God created the world exactly as it's described in the Holy Book. And it's not just in the US. Like everything these days, creationism is going global, as evidenced by a campaign to open small creation museums across Turkey (a typical one, located in an Istanbul kebab shop, greets visitors with a portrait of Charles Darwin framed in dripping blood). Matt Mossman reports in this month's issue of SEED Magazine : In its latest campaign, BAV [bilim Arastirma Vakfi, or "Scientific Research Foundation" has opened more than 80 "museums" in restaurants, malls, and city halls across Turkey, each stocked with fossils, posters, and eager volunteers. Oktar's disciples use tactics cribbed from US organizations like California's Institute for Creation Research, instructing passersby that evolution cannot explain biology's complexity and is against the word of God. BAV runs quite a sophisticated operation, as evidenced by its website, which, according to Mossman, offers downloadable Power Point presentations and questions with which students can challenge their evolution-loving science teachers (we'll have to take Mossman's word for it--the website in Turkish). And the affinity with US creationists isn't mere coincidence--a BAV spokesman travelled to the US last year to testify in the Kansas Board of Education's intelligent design hearings. Beyond the US and Turkey, creationist movements in Britain and Australia (where they seem to be particularly strong) suggest a growing global trend. “The Atlas of Creation” The Creation Atlas affords readers the opportunity to obtain a close familiarity with fossils that say “We did not evolve, but were created.” The British news agency Reuters, one of the largest in the world, carried an analysis by Tom Heneghan on 22 November, 2006. (Reuters reports reach some 1 billion people every day.) The report, headed Creation vs. Darwin Takes Muslim Twist in Turkey, discussed the works by the author Harun Yahya on the subject of evolution and the extent to which belief in evolution had contracted in Turkey in recent years. This analysis provoked a very wide reaction in various newspapers, including the Washington Post, the most important daily in the USA, and on some of the world’s most frequently visited news portals such as MSNBC, YahooNews and AolNews. Some of the comments in the report read: “A lavishly illustrated Atlas of Creation is mysteriously turning up at schools and libraries in Turkey, proclaiming that Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution is the real root of terrorism. Arriving unsolicited by post, the large-format tome offers 768 glossy pages of photographs and easy-to-read text to prove that God created the world with all its species. At first sight, it looks like it could be the work of United States creationists, the Christian fundamentalists who believe the world was created in six days as told in the Bible. But the author’s name, Harun Yahya, reveals the surprise inside. This is Islamic creationism, a richly funded movement based in predominantly Muslim Turkey which has an influence U.S. creationists could only dream of. Creationism is so widely accepted here that Turkey placed last in a recent survey of public acceptance of evolution in 34 countries—just behind the United States.” The latest of Harun Yahya’s works revealing the “Fact of Creation,” The Atlas of Creation” consists of a total of seven volumes and 5600 pages. In terms of its content and appearance this work, which reveals all aspects of the invalidity of the theory of evolution is said to have no equal anywhere in the world. The Extent of the Effect of Religion Like the Bible, the Koran says God made the world in six days and fashioned the first man, Adam, from dust. Other details vary but the idea is roughly the same. But unlike in the West, evolution theory has not undermined the traditional creation story for many Muslims. Science is hardly an issue in Turkey, therefore evolution could hardly have been an issue, said Celal Sengor, a geology professor at Istanbul Technical University. Darwinism did become an issue during the left-versus-right political turmoil before a 1980 military coup because Communist bookshops touted Darwin’s works as a complement to Karl Marx. It looked like Marx and Darwin were together, two long-bearded guys spreading ideas that make people lose their faith, said Istanbul journalist Mustafa Akyol. After the coup, the conservative government thought a dose of religion could bolster the fight against the extreme left. In 1985, a paragraph on creationism as an alternative to evolution was added to high school science textbooks and a U.S. book Scientific Creationism was translated into Turkish. In the early 1990s, leading U.S. creationists came to speak at several anti-evolution conferences in Turkey. Darwin and Terror Since then, a home-grown strain of anti-Darwinist books has developed with a clearly political message. Atlas of Creation offers over 500 pages of splendid images comparing fossils with present-day animals to argue that Allah created all life as it is and evolution never took place. Then comes a book-length essay arguing that Darwinism, by stressing the “survival of the fittest”, has inspired racism, Nazism, communism and terrorism. The root of the terrorism that plagues our planet is not any of the divine religions, but atheism, and the expression of atheism in our times [is] Darwinism and materialism, it says. One Istanbul school unexpectedly received three copies recently. It’s very well done, with magnificent photos—a very stylish tool of creationist propaganda, said the headmaster, who asked not to be named. The driving force behind these books is a reclusive Islamic teacher named Adnan Oktar who over the past decade has published a flood of books under the pseudonym Harun Yahya. Harun Yahya has managed to create a media-based and popular form of creationism, said Taner Edis, a Turkish-born physicist at Truman State University in Missouri. Harun Yahya, which is probably a pool of writers, has turned out over 200 books in Turkish and translated many of them into 51 other languages. Oktar, 50, appears on the group’s Web site sporting a clipped beard and dapper suits. His works can be found in Islamic bookshops around the world and downloaded for free over the Internet. Research on the Subject of Creation in American Scientific magazine In its latest edition published in Europe last month, the world-renowned scientific magazine American Scientific carried a report regarding creationist activities in Europe and Turkey. The largest part of the article was devoted to Adnan Oktar, better known under the pen-name Harun Yahya, and his activities. Adnan Oktar’s work on the subject of “Darwinism” was described as follows in the magazine: … For a couple of years, there has been a book defending creation. Millions of copies of the book “Evolution Deceit” have been sold in a year. This book has a great impression on us, as well. Adnan Oktar’s Activities on the Subject of Darwinism in Seed Magazine In its September edition the well-known magazine Seed devoted wide space to Adnan Oktar’s ongoing world-wide activities. The article described the Science Research Foundation, of which Adnan Oktar is the honorary president, which engages in scientific activities against the invalidity of the theory of evolution as “the most effective and powerful organization” in the world. The article also included the following statements: He's the 50-year-old founder of Bilim Araştirma Vakfi ("Scientific Research Foundation"), a creationist organization mounting one of the most potent offensives against evolution outside of the United States. They are instructing passers-by that evolution cannot explain biology's complexity and is against the word of God. But unlike its western counterparts, Oktar's group claims Darwin is responsible for communism, fascism, and terrorism. Terrorists, according to Oktar, are "social Darwinists hiding under the cloak of religion," while communists, still active in Turkey, are in "bloody alliance" with Darwinism. "Evolution is a communist and fascist belief," offers Tarkan Yavas, BAV's president. "The Muslim community understands that now." Turkey is among the most Western of Muslim nations. It teaches evolution in its schools, but, even so, appears to be losing the science education battle. In 1985 the minister of education mandated that creationism be included in science textbooks. By the late 1990s, the BAV was attacking scientists who opposed a creationist curriculum via slander and death threats. The cumulative damage to science has been significant. Ümit Sayin, a neurologist at Istanbul University and outspoken critic of Turkish creationism, estimates that the number of university-educated Turks who understand evolution has dropped to 20 percent from 40 percent over the past 15 years. BAV, founded in 1990, grew from the Turkish fringe into a global media empire. Oktar claims to have 4.5 million followers worldwide, who read his hundreds of books and essays and have seen the dozens of television documentaries that BAV produces and provides free of charge to Turkish TV stations. BAV's Web sites offer downloadable PowerPoint presentations and questions to challenge science teachers. The foundation organizes anti-evolution conferences and petitions and runs a telemarketing scheme to sell books by Harun Yahya (Oktar's pen name), which are available globally in 29 languages. In August, Science published an analysis of global public attitudes toward evolution showing that, out of 34 sample countries, the US and Turkey had the lowest acceptance of Darwin's theories. Famous Scientists Have Turned to God Francis Collins was president of the US National Human Genome Research Institute, which conducted the famous Human Genome project, the results of which were announced in 2001. He recently published a book titled The language of God. The book describes the factors that led Collins to believe in God ,who is the president of the American national Genome Research Institute which conducted the Genome project. In his book, Collins says that the scientific findings drew him closer to God and that the Genome project has revealed God’s creation to him. How Did Britain Reach This Point? A report headed “How Did We Reach This Point? In the 15th of August, 2006, edition of the famous British daily The Guardian was astonished to note that 30% of British students did not believe in evolution, and stated that this level had been much lower in the past. It is also said that “evolution is about to disappear.” Turkey and the USA: The Countries with the Fewest Believers in Evolution John Derbyshire’s column in the magazine National Review, based in New York, described creationism in Turkey in these terms: “Out of 34 countries, the U.S. and Turkey have the lowest acceptance of Darwin’s theories… The leading activist in Turkish Creationism is Adnan Oktar, pen name Harun Yahya, founder of BAV… ( I personally think that they have strong activities as Discovery Institute does.) Confessions of the Scientists Time, Newsweek and Wired, regarded as the most important current affairs magazines in the USA, devoted the covers of their editions in the first week of November to “religion.” The former atheist Dr. Francis Collins, regarded as the world’s most eminent gene expert, commented in an interview as“The perfection of our genetic structure is God’s artistry. Scientific development will provide the signs of God’s existence. We will prove that the genes making people belivers can only be active miraculously.” The Turkish Public Do Not Believe in Evolution The effect of the work revealing the invalidity of the theory of evolution is also reflected in the results of various public opinion polls. According to one poll, the results of which were recently published by the Turkish Economic and Social Studies Foundation (TESEV), the level of those saying “the theory of evolution is true” stands at 10.7%, compared to 87.4% for those saying “God created man.” According to this poll, 11 out of 100 people in Turkey believe in the theory of evolution, in other words that living things are the result of chance, that they came onto being “spontaneously” over millions of years. In the late 1970s, on the other hand, 75% of Turkish citizens believed that the theory of evolution was true. Today, that figure has dropped to 11%. There is no doubt that one of the major factors in this change is, through Allah, the works and activities of Adnan Oktar. Under the pen-name Harun Yahya, Adnan Oktar has written more than 50 books and published many documentary films about the invalidity of the theory of evolution and the fact of creation, and has opened dozens on web sites upon the subject. In addition, articles under his real or pen-names have appeared in more than 300 magazines and newspapers, and his documentaries are regularly broadcast on 273 local and regional TV channels. The Science Research Foundation and Foundation of Preserving National Values, of which Adnan Oktar is honorary president, have held more than 2000 conferences in the majority of Turkish provinces, districts and townships. Another finding announced in the TESEV report is that 93.2% of Turks describe themselves as “religious.” The latest scientific findings have dealt a severe blow to materialism and Darwinism. All the frauds and lies of evolutionists, who have deceived people over the last 10 years by the use of all kinds of methods of deception, have now been unmasked. Ministerial Announcement: “Evolution Is a Lie” Polish Deputy Education Minister Miroslaw Orzechowski has said that Darwin’s theory is a “lie” and should not be taught in schools. In a statement recently issued at the Ministry of Education, the Polish Education and Deputy Education Ministers said “The theory of evolution is a lie!” and “In the same way that wrong should not be taught instead of right, lies such as the theory of evolution should not be taught.” ‘Truth has come and falsehood has vanished. Falsehood is always bound to vanish.’ (Surat Al-Isra , 81) In the light of the latest developments we have witnessed throughout the course of this article we may say that materialist philosophy that inspires atheism is now in its death throes and, by the will of Allah, mankind has in the 21st century begun returning to the true purpose of its creation by being freed from such deceptions. No matter what efforts materialists and atheists may make to prevent the spread of religious moral values, no matter how much they attempt to hinder the light of Allah, Darwinism, the basis of their world view, has now collapsed. They no longer have any basis for their efforts to prevent the spread of religious moral values. This fact is being recognized by more and more people every day, and people across the planet are turning back to faith and religious virtues. The way that many famous scientists admit that living things are created is a striking development showing that the theory of evolution has come to the end of the road and that the number of its adherents is falling every day. The latest scientific findings have dealt a severe blow to materialism and Darwinism. All the frauds and lies of evolutionists, who have deceived people over the last 10 years by the use of all kinds of methods of deception, have now been unmasked. However, this must not lead believers in God to any relaxation as the struggle against Darwinism is not yet finished, and it must not finish; Darwinist propaganda is still going on unceasingly. Believers need to forge a powerful alliance against this propaganda, which is constantly maintained through newspaper and magazine articles, documentary films and television programmes, and which is particularly aimed at the young. Everyone must be told, by the use of developing technologies and by monitoring scientific advances, how this perverted ideology is worthless and of the kind of dangers it poses. As the numbers of those who see that the theory of evolution has scientifically collapsed and that Darwinist propaganda consists of hollow indoctrination increases, the nightmare of Darwinism will, by Allah’s will, be eradicated. The intellectual struggle against Darwinism and atheism waged by believers who mobilize all the means at their disposal in order to attain Allah’s approval will end in the finest manner for all mankind. Work carried out in honesty and togetherness will be a means whereby truth is victorious and superstition is vanquished, as our Lord promises in the Holy Qur’an. This promise by the Almighty Allah is a source of enormous enthusiasm and excitement for all believers: Rather We hurl the truth against falsehood and it cuts right through it and it vanishes clean away! Woe without end for you for what you portray! (Surat Al-Anbiya, 18) With the intellectual eradication of Darwinism, which leads to lack of faith and atheism, religious moral values will quickly spread, and peace and security will rule the world. By the will of Allah, people will very soon turn in floods to the true faith and, as promised by our Lord, the radiance of Allah will rule the entire world.

According to the features of the End Times (the final period before doomsday) revealed in detail in the hadiths of our Prophet (saas), the End Times will consist of two separate periods. The first period in this blessed age will be one of corruption, degeneration, disasters, conflict, war and poverty. The second part of the End Times, on the other hand, will be one when, with the Prophet Isa’s return to Earth and the appearance of the Mahdi, peace, security and freedom will reign on Earth, when there is abundance and prosperity, and when there are all kinds of joys that people will delight in. We therefore need to think of the End Times as a whole and to be aware that, in the light of the glad tidings imparted by our Prophet (saas), the catastrophes in the first phase will later be followed by great beauty. It would be wrong, when referring to the End Times, to recall solely to the difficulties, scarcity and disasters that are all portents of this period without also recalling that all this darkness will also eventually turn into light. Because as revealed by our Lord in the Qur’an, “For truly with hardship comes ease” Surat al-Inshirah, 5). By the will of Allah, in the End Times scarcity will be replaced by abundance, and troubles by well-being, and all problems will be resolved. The Unseen Reported by Our Prophet (saas) As revealed by Allah in the Qur’an, only He knows what is unseen. However, He also reveals that He imparts knowledge of the unseen to the chosen messengers in His presence: He is the Knower of the Unseen, and does not divulge His Unseen to anyone – except a Messenger with whom He is well pleased, and then He posts sentinels before him and behind him. (Surat al-Jinn, 26-27) Our Prophet Muhammad (saas) is a chosen messenger in the sight of Allah, to whom Allah has imparted a knowledge of the unseen. The portents of the End Times and the great events that will take place during this holy time are important events of th unseen. In addition – as a blessing from Allah – our Prophet (saas) also reported a great many other events of the unseen, all of which, as a miracle of our Lord, are coming about. There is no doubt that this is support and compassion for our beloved Prophet (saas) from Allah. One of these reports concerns our Prophet’s (saas) notification long beforehand of the deaths of some of the companions. According to information in the hadiths, our Prophet (saas) revealed that some companions would be martyred, and the kind of place they would die in. These events of the unseen informed by our Prophet (saas) represented very glad tidings for believers who witnessed them coming about. For example, the fact that the blessed Omar and Uthman would be martyred was reported thus in one hadith: The Prophet of Allah (saas) was in a garden. When Abu Baqr sought permission to enter, he (saas) said: “Let him enter, and give him the glad tidings of Paradise!” Then Uthman sought permission. He said, “Let him enter, and give him the glad tidings of both Paradise and of martyrdom.” (1) Another hadith that provides information about the caliphate and martyrdom of the blessed Uthman reads: Abu Ya’la reported from Hafsa, the mother of believers: “The Prophet of Allah (saas) had Uthman called to him and said: “You will be killed and martyred. Have fortitude, may Allah give you fortitude. Do not take off the shirt of the caliphate that Allah will have you wear for ten years and six months!” As he turned to leave, the Prophet of Allah (saas) said from behind him: “May Allah give you fortitude. You will die and be martyred while you are fasting. You will break your fast with me!” (2) The martyrdom of the Hadrath Ali and the Hadrath Hussain were described thus in the hadiths of our holy Prophet (saas): Al-Hakim – a trustworthy source – narrated from Ali: The Prophet of Allah (saas) pointed to his cheeks and said to Ali, “You will be struck here and here, and your blood will flow until it covers your beard!” (3) One day the Prophet of Allah (saas) was asleep. There was red earth in his hand. “O Prophet of Allah, what is this earth?” I asked him. He said: “Jibrail – referring to Hussain – said he would be killed in the land of Iraq. This earth is soil from there.” (4) “Referring to Hussain, this son of mine will be killed in the place known as Qarbala. Let he who sees him there go to his aid!” At this, Anas bin al-Haris went to Qarbala. He was killed there together with Hussain. (5) All these things, revealed by our Prophet (saas) as a miracle of Allah came about. In addition to this information, Muslims also witnessed that many of our Prophet’s (saas) reports concerning hidden matters came to pass. This fact must not be forgotten when evaluating the hadiths concerning the End Times. Like all these facts, the signs imparted by our Prophet (saas) to believers regarding the End Times are also, by Allah’s leave, coming about one by one, and will continue to do so. The Corruption That Will Take Place in the End Times That fact reported in many sources that there will be strife and corruption in the End Times is carried very often in magazines, books and some television programs. Many events taking place in the present day bear an astonishing similarity to the information imparted in the hadiths, and these developments indicate that we are now living in the End Times. According to the information in the hadiths: There will be war, conflict and anarchy in the End Times. When the world is in chaos, when strife emerges, when the roads are severed, when some attack others… (6) There are days of anarchy and chaos very close to Doomsday. (7) Doomsday will not take place until these signs come about … Death and slaughter will be widespread … (8) Strife will multiply, and new strifes will follow one another Before Doomsday there will be strife like dark nights. (9) Close to Doomsday there will be chaos like patches of dark nights. In this confusion a person will wake as a believer and go to bed as an unbeliever. (10) Earthquakes will increase in the End Times. Doomsday will not come about until these signs take place … earthquakes will increase … (11) There are two great signs before Doomsday … and then years of earthquakes. (12) There will be poverty and want. The poor will increase. (13) Hunger and a high cost of living will spread to the furthest extent. (14) There will be moral collapse and social degeneration. An increase in adultery is one of the portents of Doomsday. (15) The wicked will multiply, liars will be regarded as honest and honest men as liars, traitors will be trusted and the trustworthy regarded as traitors… (16) People will move away from religious moral values. There will come a time when the Holy Qur’an will be in one valley and people in another. (17) There will come a time when only the picture of the Holy Qur’an and only the name of Islam will remain. Though they are the very furthest people from Islam they will take Islamic names, although mosques appear to prosper they will be in ruins in terms of the true path. (18) Forbidden things being regarded as lawful … is one of the portents of Doomsday. (19) This is just one part of our Prophet’s (saas) reports concerning the first period of the End Times. The hadiths contain much more reports and information. When examined carefully, the age we are living in can clearly be seen to be when these portents revealed by our Prophet (saas) have begun to occur. According to the information imparted by our Prophet (saas), in the wake of these portents a sacred and holy period will begin for believers. In that period, which will possess features reminiscent of the Age of Happiness (Asr al-Saadat), the Mahdi will appear, Islamic moral values will, by Allah’s leave, prevail over the whole world, and a perfect time known as the Golden Age will take place. The Appearance of the Mahdi Is One of the Unseen Matters Reported by Our Prophet (saas) One of the reports revealed by our Prophet (saas) concerning the future is that of the coming of the Mahdi. In the hadiths our Prophet (saas) has stated that a holy individual will appear who will eradicate the strife of the End Times, bring peace and security to all and be a means whereby religious moral values rule the world, in short, the leader of the Golden Age. This holy personage is the Mahdi. By Allah’s leave, it is reported that the Mahdi will definitely appear in the End Times: Even if only one night remains to the world, ALLAH WILL PROLONG THAT NIGHT AND ONE OF MY HOUSEHOLD (THE MAHDI) WILL COME AND RULE THE WORLD. His name will match mine, and his father’s name my father’s. In the same way that the world was filled with oppression before, he will fill it with justice. He will distribute goods widely … He will remain seven or nine years… (20) The will be (a time of) caliphs after me. After the caliphs there will be amirs, and after the amirs there will be despots. THEN THE MAHDI, ONE OF MY HOUSEHOLD, WILL APPEAR. He will fill with justice a world that was previously filled with oppression. (21) According to the information in the hadiths, the strife, oppression and chaos that will be experienced in the first period of the End Times are portents of the coming of the Mahdi. This is expressed in these terms: There will be such strife that nowhere is safe from it, and this strife will immediately spread from one place to somewhere else, and this will continue until a voice from the sky calls out, “O people, your amir is now the Mahdi.” (22) The Mahdi will not appear until innocent people are slaughtered, and he will appear when those on Earth and in the skies can no longer bear this killing… (23) Bearing all this in mind, the error of referring to the end times as a period filled with catastrophes and troubles while not mentioning the way that the Prophet Isa’ and the Mahdi will appear and cause Islamic moral values to prevail on Earth can clearly be seen. The events that will take place in the End Times are some of the portents of the coming of the Prophet Isa’ and the Mahdi. Constantly recalling these portents without mentioning the great events of which they are signs is irrational and illogical. In addition, it needs to be remembered that our Prophet (saas) has revealed that one of the portents of the appearance of the Mahdi is that people will lose hope that this holy figure will actually emerge: ALLAH WILL SEND THE MAHDI when people are in despair and say, “THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS THE MAHDI…” (24) The Golden Age and the Dominion of Islamic Moral Values The way that our Prophet (saas) has portrayed the period when Islamic moral values prevail on Earth as having similar features to those of Paradise has led to it being termed the “Golden Age.” According to the information contained in the hadiths, the main features of this period are an abundance of all kinds of goods and products, the establishment of security, peace and justice, contentment and happiness, the use of all kinds of technological progress for people’s comfort, peace and joy, nobody being in need, and those who wish being given much more than they desire without such even being counted. As stated in one hadith, “… He will implement the religion as it was in the time of our Prophet (saas). He will do away with schools (mazhabs) in the world. No school will remain but that of the pure, true religion,” (25) true religious moral values will be enjoyed under the leadership of the Mahdi in the End Times. In fact, one of the main reasons why this period will be one with which all people are content is that Qur’anic moral values and the Sunna will be abided by to the letter. Technological progress will reach a peak in this part of the End Times, and people will enjoy all technological blessings to their fullest extent. There will be major advances in medicine, agriculture, communications and industrial technology and in transport, and new discoveries will constantly be made. Each new discovery will lead on to another, and progress will achieve a very rapid pace. There will also be great advances made in art, and ever more beautiful works will appear in the fields of music and visual art. The wide horizons and deep conception that Allah imparts to believers will lead the way in all artistic spheres. People will be so delighted with their lives in the Golden Age that, as one hadith puts it: “they will be unaware of how the time passes and will ask Allah to prolong their lives in order to enjoy all these benefits even further.” The features of this period are described as follows in hadiths: There will be hitherto unknown abundance in the time of the Mahdi: … the treasures in the Earth will spill forth. (26) … The Earth will give forth all the wealth concealed in it, and pillars made of gold and silver. (27) The generosity of the Mahdi: When the Mahdi distributes goods and wealth he will do so in abundance, without counting it. (28) Justice in the time of the Mahdi: The Mahdi is from my line and will fill the world with fairness and justice as it was filled with oppression and torture. (29) The world will be a safe place in the time of the Mahdi: The Earth will be full of security and even a few women will go on the pilgrimage (Hajj) with no men alongside them. (30) The longing felt for the time of the Mahdi: I would not wish to die before seeing the Mahdi. Because in his time the goodness of good people will increase, and even the wicked will be treated well… (31) … The young will say, “I wish I were old,” and the old will say, “I wish I were young”… The goodness of good people will increase, and even the wicked will be treated well (32) The Mahdi will be loved by all: The Mahdi will appear, and everyone will speak of him, drink of his love and speak of nothing else. (33) The peoples of the Earth and sky, and even the birds in the air, will be pleased with his caliphate. (34) Conclusion All this information shows that major events, regarding which all believers will feel great enthusiasm and excitement, will be experienced in the End Times. This is a great blessing for those Muslims who will witness this period. Therefore, it is of the greatest importance that sincere believers be aware of this blessing of Allah’s and feel joy because of it. The first period of the End Times is an age when corruption, degeneration, disasters, conflicts, wars and poverty will be experienced. The second period, however, with the return to Earth of the Prophet Isa’ and the coming of the Mahdi, will be a time when peace, security and freedom reign on Earth, when there is plenty and abundance, and when there are delights that please people in all respects.

In the early 20th century, scientists discovered something new: that matter was not as we had imagined it to be. Matter was not solid. Matter had no colors. It gave off no smells, sounds or image. Matter was simply energy. The chair you sit in, the table you lean on, the house you live in, your dogs, the people around you, buildings, space, stars—in short, the whole material world exists as a form of energy. In the face of this unexpected discovery, all philosophies constructed on the basis of matter therefore suffered a scientific collapse. Science definitively proved that the human soul observed all things as they were presented to it and that there could be no reference to any reality beyond these perceived images. To put it another way, it openly declared that the only absolute Entity was Allah. This proof by science is of importance in convincing minds that deify materialist philosophy. In fact, though, all who possess reflection and intellect are aware that they possess a sublime soul. Anyone who can reason at all will understand that it is the soul that rejoices, thinks, decides, judges, experiences joy and excitement, loves, shows compassion, gets anxious, enjoys the taste of an apple, takes pleasure from listening to music, builds planes, raises skyscrapers and constructs laboratories in which it examines itself. If human beings are possessed of souls, they cannot have been created haphazardly. There is a purpose behind their presence in this world. All people bear a soul that belongs to Allah and are being tested in this lifetime, after which they will be held responsible for all their thoughts and deeds. There is no randomness or aimlessness in life. There are no chance events, as Darwinists maintain. Everything has been created by the will of Allah to become part of the tests to which we are subjected. In this life, which will end in death, the only thing that will be left behind is the body. The soul, on the other hand, will live for all eternity in the Hereafter, which is its true abode. These are great glad tidings for anyone who realizes he has a soul and is able to appreciate its Creator. Darwinists, however, will continue to refuse this reality with all their means and maintain that they do not possess a soul. They will continue to refuse to accept that they will one day enter the presence of Almighty Allah, Whose existence they denied throughout the course of their lives. They will continue to regard themselves as randomly formed collections of atoms and will keep on dismissing the miraculous human consciousness that has discovered DNA, investigated the structure of the atom and has been amazed by the innermost workings of the cell. The human soul is a terrible dilemma for Darwin and the supporters who came after him. It is the basic evidence which they cannot explain, which they cannot refute and cannot resolve. Allah has vanquished them by providing proof, of a scientific kind that they cannot deny: the insubstantiality of matter. In the face of this, any objections to the soul’s existence they may come up with are invalid and meaningless. In His verses in the Qur’an, Allah tells us: Who could be further astray than those who call on other things besides Allah, which will not respond to them until the Day of Resurrection and which are unaware of their prayers? When humanity is gathered together, they will be their enemies and will reject their worship. (Surat al-Ahqaf, 5-6) Darwinists and materialists need to realize that the only absolute Entity is Allah. Confronted by this truth, all hollow, empty deceptions and superstitious faiths fall into an insuperable quandary. Allah has enfolded all things with His Sublime Might. All things belong to Him and are under His control. Denying creation and the existence of the soul cannot alter these facts one iota. A miracle is created every day, every moment in the human brain. Although only electrical signals reach the brain, and although the interior of the brain is pitch black and although this region is only a few square centimeters in size, all the mountains, seas, fields, the sky, endless wastes, houses, televisions, people, trees and in short everything we see are all in the brain. Everything there is colored. But there is no color in the brain. Everything there is light and bright, but there is no light in the brain, nor even outside it. Everything there is noisy and accompanied by sound, but the interior of the brain is completely silent. There is a depth to everything there; the stars seem very far away, while a pencil we hold in our hand seems very close. But in fact everything is on the same plane in our brains and at the same distance. The Sun seems to be thousands of kilometers away. But it is actually right next to us, inside our brains. The reason why the Sun exists in our brains is simply and solely electrical signals. A heavenly body we know to be thousands of kilometers across is actually created in a space of just a few square centimeters. A new scientist one day emerged. His name was Charles Fakewin. Fakewin proposed a brand new theory and claimed that ghosts really exist. They said that they are charged with ions from the images of people on the television and then depart from the region in the form of water vapor. They also claimed that when human breath makes contact with the images of people in films on cinema screens, the ions in those take shape by attaching themselves to that breath, and that the result is punctuated ghosts. The main idea underlying Fakewin’s theory is this: "Certain functional phenomena can take place in nature as a natural reflection of fantasies in nature, otherwise known as ‘the law of free fantasy.’ This law is the principle factor underlying the emergence of all ghosts. This is an absolute fact. Nobody can deny it." He continued with his peculiar claims by saying, "Nobody who has not read my book can fully understand me." The whole world of science, world famous universities and world famous scientists warmly embraced this theory. "Opposing Fakewinism is the same as opposing science" they said. "Anyone opposing this theory must be sacked, and any students critical of Fakewinism must be expelled" they said. “How is it possible for anyone not to believe the theory when it possesses thousands of different formulae?” they asked. It seemed as if this new theory would keep the public occupied for a long time to come. This new theory of ghosts somehow bore a very close resemblance to Darwin’s theory of evolution. Darwin first claimed that such a thing as evolution existed and then claimed he would find the evidence for it. He looked for evidence but failed to find any. Darwin and the Darwinists who followed him also claimed that their theory was scientific, though they were unable to provide a single piece of supporting evidence. They also accused those who said "the theory of evolution is not scientific, but a lie" of being "opposed to science."
