Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu

ASALATU WASALAMU ALAYKA YA RASULLALLAH Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam

Every Muslim knows that Salaah is the most important pillar of Islam after Imaan. Salaah has in fact been ordained as the corner stone of success of the People of Imaan. This is why the Shari'ah has emphasized that it should be performed correctly and punctually. Allah Ta'ala says in the Qur'aan: Safeguard your Salaah and (especially) the middle Salaah (i.e. Asr Salaah) and stand before Allah with humility. (Surah al-Baqarah)

To 'safeguard' our Salaah means 'to perform it at its prescribed time and to be steadfast in it so as not to miss a single Salaah '. When this aayah (verse) was revealed, Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallaam) warned the Sahaabah (Radiyallahu anhum} against staying away from the Masjid, and even threatened to burn the homes of the men that performed their Salaah at home. (Tafseer Ibn Katheer) In the above aayah, the Asr Salaah has been emphasized since it occurs when people are generally preoccupied in worldly activities.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    A SIGN OF TRUE IMAAN

Invariably the hours of Salaah will be encountered during the times of business and work - and this is the real test of Imaan. It is really a sign of true Imaan when a Muslim businessman suspends his business dealings and leaves his workplace to answer the call of Allah even during peak hours when customers surround him on all sides. Once Hadrat Abdullah bin Umar (Radiyallahu anhu} was in the shopping centre. It was time for Salaah and people stood up, closed their shops and proceeded to the Masjid. Hadrat Ibn Umar (Radiyallahu anhu} was delighted at seeing this and remarked, 'These are the people regarding whom this a ayah (in Surah an-Noor) was revealed: (Real) men whom neither trade nor merchandise distracts from the remembrance of Allah.’

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    VIRTUES OF ASR SALAAH

Regarding the virtue and excellence of Asr Salaah, Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallaam) has said, 'Whoever performs

the two 'cold' salaahs (i.e. Fajr and Asr) shall enter Jannah. ' (al-Bukhaari and Muslim) He has also said, 'The person who performs Salaah before the sun rises and before it sets (i.e. Fajr and Asr) shall never enter the Fire (of Jahannam).’ (SahihMuslim)

In fact, very special virtues have been attached even to the four raka 'aat Sunnah Salaah before Asr. Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallaam) has said: 'May Allah grant mercy and blessings to the person who performs four raka 'aat (Sunnah) before Asr. ' (Abu Daawood) Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallaam) has also said: 'The person who regularly performs four raka'aat (Sunnah) before Asr, Allah will forbid his body from the Fire (of Jahannam). ' (at- Tabarani)

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    DELAY ASR TILL BEFORE SUNSET

Unfortunately very few people are able to resist the love of wealth and go to the Masjid only because of their love for Salaah. As a result, they either delay their Zuhr and Asr Salaah or discard them altogether. Let alone missing the Asr Salaah completely, serious warnings have been given against delaying it till just before sunset. Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallaam) has said, “This is the Salaah of the hypocrite: He sits waiting for the sun until it is between the two horns of the shaytaan (i.e. just before sunset). Then ( very hastily) he goes and strikes his head four times on the ground (and) he does not remember Allah therein, but a little.” (Sahih Muslim)

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    MISSING ASR COMPLETELY

However, regarding to those people who miss their Asr Salaah completely Rasulullah (Sallallahu alayhi wasallaam) has said: 'He who misses his Asr Salaah (i.e. reads it after its specified time) is as if he has lost his wife, children and all his wealth.’ (Sahih Muslim)

In other words, Salaah is so precious that missing one Salaah should make us grieve and mourn its loss like the pain suffered by a man who has lost his wife, his children and all his belongings. May Allah protect us from missing our Salaah because of the very grave consequences in the Hereafter. Another Hadith warns that for a person who totally neglects or misses his Asr Salaah, all his actions are rendered worthless. (Mishkaat p.60)

This is why the Qur'aan specifically emphasizes the importance of the Asr Salaah. Yet, it is sad and shocking that so many businessmen and workers remain busy in their shops and offices, and read their Asr Salaah during sunset or make it qadha afterwards. Those who are guilty of this should reflect upon the above Ahaadith. Allah Ta'ala also says:

Verily Salaah is compulsory on the Muslims at its prescribed time. (Surah an-Nisaa: 103)

Therefore, to read a Salaah other than at its prescribed time without a valid Shari' excuse, makes a person deserving of severe punishment. In Surah al-Maa-oon, referring specifically to the hypocrites, Allah warns them with destruction for neglecting their Salaah and not performing it on time. Yet, these examples are found in abundance amongst Muslims today.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    THE SUCCESSFUL BELIEVERS

Describing the successful Believers, Allah Ta'ala declares:

They are those who are punctual in the performance of their Salaah. (Surah al-Mu'minoon: 9)

We engage in business as a means of gaining sustenance. Allah Ta'ala, our Sustainer, has promised sustenance with ease and barakah (blessings) if we perform our Salaah on time and with jama'ah (for males) by observing all its etiquette. But, if our business becomes an obstacle to establishing Salaah, it is actually an obstacle to gaining rizq from Allah Ta' ala. This will deprive our earnings of any barakah and instead of bringing us happiness and enjoyment it will becomes a means of torment and grief.

May Allah guide us to adopt the ways of our Pious Predecessors and those who have earned His pleasure, and may He help us to realise that our success lies truly in submitting to His orders in the manner demonstrated by our Master, Nabi Muhammad (Sallallahu alayhi wasallaam). Aameen

Ayat-Ul-Kursi The Verse if The Throne:

It is narrated by Hadrat Khawaja Baba Fariduddin Ganj Shaker (God Bless him) that when the Ayat-Ul-Kursi was revealed to the Holy Prophet (PBUH), Hadrat Gabriel brought it surrounded by 70 Thousand angels and said he who recites it once will be compensated with one thousand years worship. He, who recites it before leaving the house, is surrounded by one thousand angels who pray for his forgiveness.

The Holy Prophet (PBUH) was please to say he who recites it once after every Farz prayer only death keeps him away from paradise. Khawaja Qutbuddin Bakhtiar Kaki was pleased to say he who recites it before going out, Allah keeps away need and indigence from his house.

f anyone recites it once before retiring for the night, he will be safe from thieves and burglars. By reciting it and blowing it on a sick or pain afflicted person Allah in his Infinite mercy will Inshallah alleviate the pain and illness.

If possible one tasbeeh should be recited everyday for salvation and bliss. It is also efficacious in exercising evil spirits and ghosts, Anyone troubled by nightmares in sleep should recite it three times before going to bed.

If anyone recites it seventy times after Asr prayer in seclusion every Friday he will begin to see inward light and every prayer made at the moment will Inshallah be accepted by Allah the Almighty. If anyone has to present himself before a bad tempered officer he should recite it before going in to see him.

Ayat-Ul-Kursi The Verse if The Throne:

    Bism illahir Rahman-ir-Rahim

Allâhu lâ ilâha illâ Huwa l-Hayyu l-Qayyûm, lâ ta'juduhû sinatun wa lâ nawm, lahû mâ fi s-samâwâti wa mâ fi 1-'ard, man da l-ladî yasfa'u 'indahû illâ bi-'idnih. English Translation

In the name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

Allah! There is no God save Him, the Alive, the Eternal. Neither slumber nor sleep overtaketh Him. Unto Him belongeth whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever is in the earth. Who is he that intercedeth with Him save by His leave? He knoweth that which is in front of them and that which is behind them, while they encompass nothing of His knowledge save what He will. His throne includeth the heavens and the earth, and He is never weary of preserving them. He is the Sublime, the Tremendous.

Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu

ASALATU WASALAMU ALAYKA YA RASULLALLAH Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sa

We are going to describ a few Mu'jizas of Sayyiduna Rasulullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam). These are:-

    1. The greatest miracle of Sayyiduna Rasulullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) is the Holy Quran which was revealed upon him. Till this day no person has been able to bring a verse equal to that of the Holy Quran.

    2. The splitting of the Moon was another great miracle. When Sayyiduna Rasulullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) was 52 years old, the leaders of the disbelievers of the Quraish tribe came to him and said, "If you are a Prophet, then split the moon into two parts." Sayyiduna Rasulullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) dearly wanted the people to convert to Islam, especially his close friends and relatives. He prayed, raising up his hands, and the moon split into two equal halves. Each part of the moon was seen above different mountains. The disbelievers said, "Muhammad (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) has performed magic." They did not accept Islam.

    3. Once, while the Muslims were in the midst of a battle with the disbelievers, their water ran out. Sayyiduna Rasulullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) dipped his blessed hands into some water and water began to flow from his blessed fingers. This water filled a container, and only stopped until he took his blessed hand out of the water. It is said that in the Battle of Tabuk 70 000 Sahaba and their animals drank this water and used it.

    4. One day, Sayyiduna Rasulullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) met a person who was holding an idol in his hand: "Will you accept Islam if this idol talks to me?" The idol worshipper said, "I have been worshipping this idol for 50 years and it has never spoken to me. How will it speak to you?" Sayyiduna Rasulullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) looked at the idol and asked, "Who am I?"A voice was heard from the idol saying: "You are the Prophet of Almighty Allah." When the idol worshipper heard this, he immediately became a Muslim.

    5. A disbeliever came to Sayyiduna Rasulullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) and asked him: "How do I know that you are the Prophet of Allah?"Sayyiduna Rasulullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) answered: "Would you believe in me if that bunch of dates hanging on that tree comes near me when I order it to?" He said that he would. Sayyiduna Rasulullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) called the bunch of dates. The bunch of dates hobbled over to him. He then said, "Go back to your place." The dates then went back to its place again. The disbeliever, on seeing this miracle, became a Muslim.

    6. One day Sayyiduna Rasulullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) asked a peasant to convert to Islam. The peasant said that he would accept Islam on condition that Sayyiduna Rasulullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) revive his neighbour's daughter, who was dead. Sayyiduna Rasulullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) and the peasant went to a certain grave where the girl was buried. Sayyiduna Rasulullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) called the dead girl by her name. A voice was heard from the grave. The girl appeared. Sayyiduna Rasulullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) asked the girl: "Do you want to come back to the world?" The girl answered: "O Prophet of Almighty Allah! I do not want to come back to the world. I am happier here than I was in my father's house. The next world for a Muslim is better than this world." The peasant immediately accepted Islam.

    7. A dumb boy, who was quite grown up, was brought to Sayyiduna Rasulullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam). He asked the boy: "Who am I?" The boy answered: "You are the Prophet of Almighty Allah." Thereafter, the boy was able to speak until his death.

    8. Sayyiduna Muhammad bin Haatib (radi Allahu anhu) says: "I was young and some boiling water was poured on my body. I was burnt. My father took me to Sayyiduna Rasulullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam). He rubbed his blessed saliva along the burnt places on my body and then prayed. Immediately, those parts were healed."

    9. A women once sent some honey to Sayyiduna Rasulullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) as a present. He accepted the present and sent back the "empty" pot. But, when she took the pot, she saw that the pot was full of honey. The women returned to the Sayyiduna Rasulullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) and asked: "O Prophet of Allah! (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) Why did you not accept my present? I wonder, what is my sin?"Sayyiduna Rasulullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) answered,"We have accepted your present. The honey that you see in your pot is the blessing given by Almighty Allah for your present." The woman and her children ate this honey for many months. One day, she unknowingly put the honey into another pot. In the new pot, the honey was eventually used up. It was reported to Sayyiduna Rasulullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) about what had happened. He declared: "If it had been left in the pot that I sent, they would have eaten it until the end of the world; it would not have decreased at all."

    10. Sayyiduna Anas bin Maalik (radi Allahu anhu) had a shawl which was given to him by Sayyiduna Rasulullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam). Sayyiduna Rasulullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) had wiped his blessed face with it. Sayyiduna Anas (radi Allahu anhu) also used it. When the shawl became stained, he placed it into the fire to remove the stains. Miraculously, the fire never burnt the shawl but it cleaned the stain on it. This was because the shawl had touched the blessed body of Sayyiduna Rasulullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam).

    11. In the battle of Badr, one of the eyeballs of Sayyiduna Qatadah bin Noman (radi Allahu anhu) was plucked out and fell on his cheek. He was in great pain and agony. The Sahaba decided to free him from the pain by cutting off his eye completely. One of the Sahaba advised that he be taken to Sayyiduna Rasulullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam). Sayyiduna Rasulullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) put the eyeball back into it's place with his blessed hand. He prayed, saying: "O! My Allah! Make his eye beautiful." Sayyiduna Qatadah (radi Allahu anhu's) eye was more beautiful than the other one. He used to see more clearly with that eye.

    12. During the Battle of Badr, Sayyiduna Okkasha bin Muhsin (radi Allahu anhu) broke his sword on the armour of one of his enemies. When Sayyiduna Rasulullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) saw him, he gave him a stick and said to him: "Go and fight." As soon as the stick passed into his hands, it changed into a sharp sword. He fought fiercely with it and killed many enemies. Sayyiduna Okkasha (radi Allahu anhu) always carried that sword and fought many battles with it. He named the sword "Aun" or "Help and Victory."

    13. There was a Sahabi by the name of Sayyiduna Safina (radi allahu anhu). He was freed by Sayyiduna Rasulullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam's) wife, Sayyadah Umme Salma (radi Allahu anha). He served Sayyiduna Rasulullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) loyally. He was captured by the disbelievers during the war against the Romans. But, he managed to escape from them. On his way back, he met a lion. He told the lion that he was the servant of Muhammadur Rasoolullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam). He also explained to the lion what had happened to him. The lion rubbed himself on Sayyiduna Safina (radi Allahu anhu) and said: "Walk with me!" They walked together until Muslim soldiers were seen. Then, the lion left.

    14. Sayyiduna Zaid bin Harith (radi Allahu anhu), a very greatSahabi, was travelling to a distant land. The mule rider, whom he had hired, wanted to kill him. Sayyiduna Zaid bin Haarith (radi Allahu anhu) sought permission from the mule rider to perform two Rakaah of Nafil Salaah. The mule rider agreed. At the end of his Salaah, the Sahabi called out "Ya Arhamar Rahimeen" 3 times. As he called out this name each time, a voice was heard saying, "Do not kill him!" Suddenly, a cavalryman with a sword in his hand appeared and killed the mule rider. Then, turning to Sayyiduna Zaid bin Harith (radi Allahu anhu), the man said, "When you began to say, 'Ya Arhamar Rahimeen,' I was in the seventh heaven. When you said it for the second time, I had reached the first heaven. The moment that you recited it for the third time, I was here and I rescued you." Sayyiduna Zaid bin Harith (radi Allahu anhu) immediately understood that he (the man) was an Angel sent by Almighty Allah to assist him.

    15. It was witnessed many times, how the gravel or the food in the blessed hands of Sayyiduna Rasulullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam), sounded like bees and recited the Names of Almighty Allah.

ASALATU WASALAMU ALAYKA YA RASULLALLAH Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam

Different traditions reveal that the Prophet (sallallâhu `alayhi wa sallam) himself directly listens to those who invoke blessings on him irrespective of their nearness and remoteness. As Abû Dardâ' narrated Allah's Messenger (sallallâhu `alayhi wa sallam) saying:

"Invoke blessings on me abundantly on Friday. Verily it is an attended day and the angels attend. Whoever invokes blessings on me, his voice reaches me regardless of the distance." We asked, "Even after your demise?" The Prophet (sallallâhu `alayhi wa sallam) replied, "(Yes), even after my demise because Allah made unlawful for the earth to eat up the bodies of the Prophets."[1]

    (Yûsuf bin Ismâ'îl Nabhânî [1265-1350/1849-1932], Hujjatullâhi `alal-`âlamîn (Faisalabad, Pakistan: al-Maktaba an-Nûriyya ar-Ridwiyya, n.d.), p. 713)

This Hadith reveals the vastness of the Prophet's sense of hearing. At another occasion, the Prophet (sallallâhu `alayhi wa sallam) was asked about those who invoke blessings on him from far and wide. The Prophet (sallallâhu `alayhi wa sallam) replied:

"I listen to the blessings of my lovers and know them."

    (Muhammad Mahdi [bin Ahmad Fâsî, 1033-1109/1624-1698], Matâli`ul-masarrât bi jalâ'i dalâ'ilil-khayrât (Faisalabad, Pakistan: al-Maktaba an-Nûriyya ar-Ridwiyya, n.d.), p. 81)

It is revealed that the Prophet (sallallâhu `alayhi wa sallam) knows his lovers and listens to them. Once he said to his companions about Hadrat `Îsâ (`alayhis-salâm) that he will return to this world. Then Hadrat `Îsâ (`alayhis-salâm) will visit Madina and the Prophet (sallallâhu `alayhi wa sallam) said:

"And when he (`Îsâ) will stand beside my grave calling: 'O Muhammad!' I will respond to him."

[2] This is Sa`îd bin Abî Maryam who died in 224H.

The tashah-hud prayer recited in the five daily prayers (namâz/salât):

    "at-taHiyyâtu lillâhi waS-Salawâtu waT-Tayyibâtu as-salâmu `alayka ayyuhan-nabiyyu wa raHmatullâhi wa barakâtuh as-salâmu `alaynâ wa `alâ `ibâdil-lâhiS-SâliHîn…"

"All oral, physical and monetary worship is for Allah. Peace be upon you O Prophet and Allah's mercy and blessings. Peace be upon us and on the `ibâdillâhiS-SaliHîn (righteous servants of Allah)…"

Some mistakenly say that the salâm's recited upon the Holy Prophet (sallallâhu `alayhi wa sallam) in "tashah-hud" are not received by him. They say this because they believe that the tashah-hud is merely recalling the discourse which took place between the Holy Prophet (sallallâhu `alayhi wa sallam) and Allah (subhânahu wa ta`âlâ) during the night ascension or Mi`râj. Please read up on this if you are not familiar with the events that took place during the Mi`râj. It is true that the tashah-hud does remind us of that. However, it is wrong to say that the recitation is just the remembrance this event and not actually giving salâm's to the Holy Prophet (sallallâhu `alayhi wa sallam) with him receiving them. The Holy Prophet (sallallâhu `alayhi wa sallam) himself answers this confusion in the following words:

    "fa'innahû idhâ qâla dhâlika a-Sâba kulla `abdin Sâlihin fis-samâ'i wal-arDî"

"When they say, salâm be upon the `ibâdillâhiS-Sâlihîn (righteous servants of Allah), this reaches every sâlih (righteous) servant who is in the heavens and on the earth."

    (Khatîb Tabrîzî, Mishkât, p. 85)

So, if the salâm's reach EVERY righteous servant of Allah, not just those on the earth but also those in the heavens, then why can't our Prophet (sallallâhu `alayhi wa sallam) be receiving the salâms? It is for this reason that the traditional scholars of Islam, have actually recommended us to recite: "as-salâmu `alayka ayyuhan-nabiyyu wa raHmatullâhi wa barakâtuh" as though the Holy Prophet (sallallâhu `alayhi wa sallam) is present.

    Imam Ghazâlî [d. 504H] states:

"At first, bring the holy figure of Rasûlullâh (`alayhis-salâm) present [HâDir] in your heart. Then recite As-salâmu `alayka ayyuhan-Nabiyyu and believe that he will hear you and answer you."

    (Mulla `Alî Qârî, Mirqât sharh Mishkât, v. 2, p. 332)

Additional notes taken from: Mufti Ghulam Rasûl, Hadiya Darûd Sharîf, pp. 110-111

    I would like to add:

It is most certainly not what Ismâ`îl Dehlwî [d. 1830AD/1246AH] wrote on page 118 of his book, Sirât-e-Mustaqîm (Pakistan, Lahore: "Nasharyât-e-Islâm", Urdu Bazar). He suggested in there that thinking of a cow in your prayers does not break the prayers, but thinking of the Holy Prophet (sallallâhu `alayhi wa sallam) , in his view does - a`ûdhubillâhi min dhâlik.

Let us spend less of our time arguing and more of it devoted to sending salât and salâm on the Prophet (sallallâhu `alayhi wa sallam) , whether in a gathering or alone, whether standing or sitting, whether aloud or quietly to yourself.

aS-Salâtu was-salâmu `alayka yâ rasûlallâh wa `alâ âlika wa aS-Hâbika yâ sayyidî yâ Habîballâh!

SALLAL LAAHU ALAN NABIYIL UMMIYI WA AALIHI SALLAL LAAHU ALAIHI WASALLAM. SALAATAW WAS SALAAMAN ALAIKA YA RASOOLALLAH. Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam

a woman repeated a bit of gossip about a neighbor. Within a few days the whole community knew the story. The person it concerned was deeply hurt and offended.

Later the woman responsible for spreading the rumor learned that it was completely untrue. She was very sorrowful and went to a wise old sage to find out what she could do to repair the damage.

"Go to the marketplace", he said, "and purchase a chicken, and have it killed. Then on your way home, pluck its feathers and drop them one by one along the road". Although, surprised by this advice, the woman did what she was told.

The next day the wise man said, "Now go and collect all those feathers you dropped yesterday and bring them back to me."

The woman followed the same road, but to her dismay, the wind had blown a11 the feathers away. After searching for hours, she returned with only three in her hand.

"You see," said the old sage, "it’s easy to drop them, but its impossible to get them back. So it is with gossip. It doesn’t take much to spread a rumor, but once you do, you can never completely undo the wrong."

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

O ye who believe! avoid suspicion as much (as possible): for suspicion in some cases is a sin: and spy not on each other nor speak ill of each other behind their backs. Would any of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? Nay ye would abhor it...but fear Allah: for Allah is Oft-Returning Most Merciful.

    [surah Hujurat; 49:12]

Allah’s Apostle (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) said: Do you know what is backbiting? They (the Companions) said: Allah and His Apostle (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) know best. Thereupon he (the Prophet) said: Backbiting implies your talking about your brother in a manner which he does not like. It was said to him: What is your opinion about this that if I actually find (that failing) in my brother which I made a mention of? He said: If (that failing) is actually found (in him) what you assert, you in fact backbited him, and if that is not in him it is a slander.

Assalamu 'Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu

SALLAL LAAHU ALAN NABIYIL UMMIYI WA AALIHI SALLAL LAAHU ALAIHI WASALLAM. SALAATAW WAS SALAAMAN ALAIKA YA RASOOLALLAH. Salla Allahu ta'ala 'alayhi wa Sallam

Before the time when the Prophet Muhammad (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) began to disseminate Allah’s Word, there were many Arabs who preferred their sons to their daughters.

Sons were strong they could work hard they could bring great benefits to their parents and their family. But daughters being girls were weak or so the Arabs thought. Not only that, girls were a nuisance and were a burden and an expense on a family.

Many Arab fathers had no use for girls and when a daughters was born to them instead of a son they did not feel at all pleased. Some of them got very angry at the birth of a girl and buried her alive.

Fortunately, though not many Arab fathers were like the man who went to the Prophet and confessed to a truly terrible crime.

This father had once been an idol worshipper like all the Arabs before the Prophet Muhammad (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) came among them and showed them the way of Islam. Before he became a Muslim, the Arab had had a daughter a sweet little girl and kissing him. Whenever her father called this little girl came running towards him always ready to show her love.

One day the Arab called her and of course she ran to his side. He told her for a long walk and the girl skipped and hopped happily beside her father as they went along the poor little thing She never thought that a dreadful fate awaits her.

Before long the father and his daughter came to a well. Suddenly without warning he grabbed her lifted her up and throw down the well. The little girl was dreadful frightened and cried out in terror shrieking "Daddy Oh Daddy".

But the father refused to listen to her pleas and her cries for help. Instead he threw a load of earth down the well to bury his daughter and then he went home and left her to die.

It was a heartrending story. The father was full of remorse and guilt for the dreadful murder he had committed. The girl’s father would have to suffer his guilt for the rest of his life.

Naturally the Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) was appalled when he heard what the father had done. His heart ached with sorrow.

Tears welled up in his eyes and spilled down his face and into his beard. The Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) wept so much that his face and beard became very wet and the hairs on his beard were all straggly with water.

When his friend saw the Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) weep like this they became very unhappy and felt their eyes, too fill with tears.

All the same they knew it was right for the Prophet Muhammad (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) to shed so many tears for the poor little girl who had died such a terrible death.

For had he not taught his people that they should love. All children both boys and girls? Had he not said: 'Allah loves he who loves and looks after family especially the girls'?

And was the Prophet (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) not the greatest friend the children of the world have ever had?

  8. Once a man came to the prophet Muhammad (salAllahu alayhi wasalam) and said, "Oh prophet of Allah, I have many bad habits. Which one of them should I give up first?" The prophet said, "Give up telling lies first and always speak the truth." The man promised to do so and went home.

At night the man was about to go out to steal. Before setting out, he thought for a moment about the promise he made with the prophet. "If tomorrow the prophet asks me where have I been, what shall I say? Shall I say that I went out stealing? No, I cannot say that. But nor can I lie. If I tell the truth, everyone will start hating me and call me a thief. I would be punished for stealing."

So the man decided not to steal that night, and gave up this bad habit.

Next day, he felt like drinking wine, when he was about to do so, he said to himself, "What shall I say to the prophet if he asks me what did I do during the day? I cannot tell a lie, and if I speak the truth people will hate me, because a Muslim is not allowed to drink wine." And so he gave up the idea of drinking wine.

In this way, whenever the man thought of doing something bad, he remembered his promise to tell the truth at all times. One by one, he gave up all his bad habits and became a good Muslim and a very good person.

If you always speak the truth, you can be a good person, a good Muslim whom Allah likes and favors. If Allah - our Creator - is pleased with us, He will reward us with Jannah (Paradise), which is a place of happiness and joy

  9. DUROOD-E-TUNAJJINA:

ALLAHUMMA SALLI ALA SAYYIDINA WA MAULANA MUHAMMADIW WA ALA AALI SAYYIDINA WA MAULANA MUHAMMADIN SALAATAN TUNAJJINA BIHA MIN JAMI'IL AHWAALI WAL'AFAATI WA TAQDILANA BIHA MIN JAMI'IL HAAJAATI WATU TAHIRUNA BIHA MIN JAMI'IS SAYYI AATI WATAR FA'UNA BI HAA A'LAD DARAJAATI WATU BAL LIGHUNA BIHA AQSAL GHAAYAATI MIN JAMI'IL KHAIRAATI FIL HAYAATI WABA'DAL MAMAATI INNAKA ALA KULLI SHAY IN QADEER.

"O Allah! Shower blessings on Muhammad, our Master, and his Family such blessings by means of which Thou may relieve us of all anxieties and calamities. Thou may satisfy all our needs. Thou may clean us of all evils and thanks for which Thou may grant us high position and high rank and status in Thy presence, and Thou may lead us to the utmost limit of our aspirations and capacity in whatever is best in this world as well as in the world Hereafter, as Thou has the full Power over everything".

This Durood Shareef is always a cure for all calamities in the world of worldly affairs. It was taught by Sayyiduna Rasoolullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) himself. To recite this Durood Shareef 70 times during days of calamity, turmoil and trouble, is a must. It works wonders.

The great Scholar, Saint, Jurist and author, Imam ibn-Faikihani (radi Allahu anhu) says that there was once a pious man called Sheikh Moosa Zareer (radi Allahu anhu). He embarked on a voyage by ship. Due to a heavy storm, the ship started sinking. All the passengers on board started crying and clamouring, but Sheikh Moosa Zareer (radi Allahu anhu) went to sleep. He saw the Holy Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) in his dream and the Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) directed him and the passengers to recite Durood-e-Tunajjina 1 000 times. Sheikh Moosa Zareer (radi Allahu anhu) got up and started the recitation. As soon as he finished 300 Durood Shareefs, the storm subsided and the ship was saved. The other ship on the high seas sank, but this ship reached its destination safely and soundly. This miracle was a sufficient eye-opener for the members of the ship. It was by the Grace of Allah Ta'ala and Durood-e-Tunajjina that all were saved.

All the Saints have unanimously given verdict that Durood-e-Tunajjina is the best cure of all ills and all calamities of this world.

    DUROOD-E-NAHARIYA:

ALLAHUMMA SALLI ALA SALAWATAN KAMILATAW WA SALLIM SALAAMAN TAAAMAN ALA SAYYIDINA MUHAMMADINIL LAZI TANHALLU BIHIL UQADU WATAN FARIJU BIHIL KURABU WA TUQDA BIHIL HAWA IJU WA TUNAALU BIHIR RAGHAAA'IBU WAHUSNUL KHAWATIMI WA USTASQAAYAL GHAMAMU BIWAJHIHIL KAREEMI WA ALAAA A'LIHI WASAHBIHI FI KULLI LAMHATIW WA NAFSIN BI ADADA KULLI MA'LUMIL LAKA YAAA ALLAHU YAAA ALLAHU YAAA ALLAHU.

"O Allah! Every moment and in every breath, bestow complete and the best blessings and perfect peace which is endless on Muhammad, our master, and on his descendants and his Companions, and may, for His Sake, all our troubles and tortures be over, calamities ended, and all our needs fulfilled, all our cherished desires attained, and good ends vouch-saved, and clouds are laden with water through the glorious countenance of Prophet. The perfect blessings and peace on the Prophet's House, his Family and his Companions every instance in number equal to the count of all things in Thy Knowledge".

Durood-e-Nahariya is a great power. If it is recited daily, it will give such strength and power to the reciter that no one on earth will be able to subdue him. It is a grand success in all the affairs of the world. If this Durood Shareef is recited during days of calamities, Allah Ta'ala will help the reciter from the quarters unknown to the human beings. The reciter will be able to cross every barrier of handicap safely and soundly. In

every worldly affair, in every trial and tribulation, success will be his net income.

ALLAHUMMA SALLI ALA MUHAMMADIM MA DAAMATIS SALAWAATU WAS SALLI ALA MUHAMMADIM MADAAMATIR RAHMATI WA SALLI ALA MUHAMMADIM MADAAMATIL BARAKAATU WA SALLI ALA RUHI MUHAMMADIN FIL ARWAAHI WA SALLI ALA SURATI MUHAMMADIN FIS SUWARI WA SALLI ALA ISMI MUHAMMADIN FIL ASMAAA'I WA SALLI ALA NAFSI MUHAMMADIN FIL NUFUSI WA SALLI ALA QALBI MUHAMMADIN FIL QULUBI WA SALLI ALA QABRI MUHAMMADIN FIL QUBURI WA SALLI ALA RAWDATI MUHAMMADIN FIR RIYAADI WA SALLI ALA JASADI MUHAMMADIN FIL AJSAADI WA SALLI ALA TURBATI MUHAMMADIN FIT TURABI WA SALLI ALA KHAIRI KHALQIHI SAYYIDINA MUHAMMADIW WA ALA ALIHI WA ASHABIHI WA AZWAAJIHI WAZURIYAATIHI WA AHLI BAYTIHI WA AHBABIHI AJMA'INA BIRAHMATIKA YAAA AR HAMAR RAAHIMEEN.

"O Allah! Shower Thy blessings on Hazrat Muhammad ever and ever until Thy blessings are to be showered. Grant Thy bounty and mercy on Muhammad until Thy bounty is granted and mercy is showered. The most selected favours on the Spirit of Muhammad amongst all persons, on the name of Muhammad amongst all names, on the heart of Muhammad amongst all hearts. Thy most bountiful favours on the grave of Muhammad amongst all graves, on the tomb of Muhammad amongst all the bodies, on the clay of Muhammad (tomb) amongst all clays. May Allah shower His blessings on Muhammad the best of all that and on the descendants of Muhammad, on the Companions of Muhammad, on the friends of Muhammad, and on all his family members, O! Merciful Almighty Allah and Great Merciful".

This Salawat is usually recited in the graveyard while paying homage to the deceased. When it is recited, Allah showers His blessings on the deceased. When the sons go to the graveyard they should recite the above Durood Shareef on the graves of their father.

    DAROOD-E-ALFI

ALLAHUMA SALLI ALA MUHAMMADIW WA ALA AALI MUHAMMADIN BI ADADI KULLI ZARRATIM MAA'ATA ALFIN ALFA MARRATIW WABAARIK WA SALLIM.

"O Allah! May Thy beneficence be on Muhammad and on the House of Muhammad in a number equal to a million fold of each atom (that is created by Thee) and Thy blessings be, Thy peace on him".

This Durood Shareef brings immediate success for the reciter and his entire family. It is a cure of all worldly ills.

O you who yearn for the light of his beauty, Send blessings and utmost greetings of peace Upon him and upon his Family.

Durood E Taj has the same Fazilat as other Durood Shareefs, Mishkaat Shareef has got a full section on this, Ke Jo Shuks Mujh Par Durood Pare Tu Allah Mujh Rar Durood Parne Wale Ko Das Nekiyan Ata Farmata, Das Darje Uske Buland Karta Hai Aur Das Gunaah Us Ke Maaf Ho Jaayenge.

Durrod E Taj has the same level of sawaab as this in which Nabi Kareem Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallams Tareef and in which the beauty of Nabi Kareem Sallalahu Alaih Wasallam is said.

    DUROOD-E-IBRAHIMI

ALLAHUMMA SALLI ALA MUHAMMADIW WA ALA AALI MUHAMMADIN KAMAA SALLAITA ALA IBRAHIMA WA ALA AALI IBRAHIMA INNAKA HAMIDUM MAJID. ALLAHUMMA BAARIK ALA MUHAMMADIW WA ALA AALI MUHAMMADIN KAMAA BAARAKTA ALA IBRAHIMA WA ALA AALI IBRAHIMA INNAKA HAMIDUM MAJID.

"O Allah, let Your Blessings come upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, as you have blessed Ibrahim and his family. Truly, You are Praiseworthy and Glorious. Allah, bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, as you have blessed Ibrahim and his family. Truly, You are Praiseworthy and Glorious".

The famous companion of the Prophet MUHAMMAD (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam), Hadrat Ka'ab bin Ujrah (radi Allahu anhu), narrates that once it was enquired from Sayyiduna Rasoolullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) as to how blessings should be sent to him. The Prophet MUHAMMAD (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) replied that the blessings be said in the manner (it has been mentioned) above, that is, Durood-e-Ibrahimi.

    DUROOD-E-FATH

ALLAHUMMA SALLI WASALLIM WABARIK ALA SAYYIDINA MUHAMMADINIL FAATIHI LIMA UGHLIQA WAL KHAATIMI LIMA SABAKA WAN NAASIRIL HAQQA BIL HAQQI WAL HAADI ILA SIRAATIKAL MUSTAQEEMI SALLAL LAAHU ALAIHI WA ALA AALI WA ASHABIHI HAQQA QADRIHI MIQDAARIHIL AZEEM.

"O Allah! May Thy grace, peace and blessings rest on Muhammad, our Master, who opens that which is closed, and closes that which is preceded, who helps truth with truth, and who guided mankind to Thy straight path. May blessings of Allah be on him and his Family and Companions as according to his exalted position befitting his merit and his high rank".

then it was kept a secret. Hadrat Abu-Bakr Siddique (radi Allahu anhu), the first Caliph of Islam, used to recite it daily without fail. Some narrations say that it is because of this Durood that he was awarded the title of "Siddique" which means "Testifier to the Truth".

Hadrat Abul Muqqarab (alaihir rahmah) says that a man's total sins will be washed away if he recites Durood-e-Fath for forty days continuously.

Hadrat Shaikh Muhammad Bakari (alaihir rahmah) says that the recitation of Durood-e-Fath once a day relieves the reciter from the Fire of Hell.

Hadrat Syed Ahmed Hillam (alaihir rahmah) says that Durood-e- Fath was the most favourite routine of Hadrat Ghaus-e-Azam, Sheikh Abdul Qaadir Jilani (alaihir rahmah) of Baghdad Shareef.

The great Saints also say that Durood-e-Fath is actual and real light.

Hadrat Sheikh Yusuf Bin Ismail (alaihir rahmah) says that this Durood Shareef is the greatest mystery of Allah. It brings 100% success and happiness to the reciter. In fact, this Durood Shareef brings prosperity and favour and solves all the complex problems by the Grace of Allah. When a man recites this Durood Shareef, the Angels of Allah surround him, mercy covers him and peace starts descending on him.

    DUROOD-E-SHAFI'I

ALLAHUMA SALLI ALA MUHAMMADIN KULLAMA ZAKARAHUZ ZAAKIRUNA WA KULLAMA GHAFALA UN ZIKRIHIL GHAFILUN.

"O Allah! Shower blessings on Muhammad and his children whenever he is remembered by those who remember him, and shower blessings on Muhammad and family whenever he is not remembered by the negligent, and grant him peace constantly in abundance".

This Durood Shareef is called Durood-e-Shafi'i because Hadrat Imam Shafi'i (alaihir rahmah) used to recite it constantly and he received glad tidings of Jannah in this world. This Durood Shareef is of a very great significance. It brings tremendous prosperity, health, happiness and success in this and the next world.

Hadrat Allama Sakhavi (alaihir rahmah) has written in his book that Abdullah bin Abdul Hakam saw Hadrat Imam Shafi'i (radi Allahu anhuma) in a dream after his death and inquired about life after death. Imam Shafi'i (alaihir rahmah) told him that because of the continuous recitation of the above Durood Shareef, Allah Ta'ala gave him the most exalted position of the highest grade in Heaven and forgave him. Hadrat Imam Muzni (alaihir rahmah) has also narrated exactly the same story.

This Durood Shareef is of a very great significance. It brings tremendous prosperity, health and happiness and success in this world and the Aakirah.

    DUROOD-E-DAWAAMI

ALLAHUMMA SALLI ALA SAYYIDINA MUHAMMADIW WA ALA AALI SAYYIDINA MUHAMMADIN ADADA MA FI ILMIL LAAHI SALAWAATAN DAA'IMATAN BIDAWAAMI MULKILLAH.

"O Allah! Shower blessings on Muhammad, our master, in the number that is in Thy knowledge such blessings as may continue for ever eternal as Thy Kingdom".

This Durood Shareef is of a very great value. If it is recited only once, it amounts to all the rewards of all the Duroods. By reciting this Durood, one gets peace of mind and success in this world as well as in the next. After reciting this Durood Shareef, the reciter can claim that he has recited almost all the Duroods which are in this world known to the people. During days of upheavals, this Durood Shareef brings relief, success and true happiness. It is mostly the Saints and very pious people who recite this Durood after every prayer. They also recommended this Durood Shareef to all the needy.

    DUROOD-E-QURAANI

ALLAHUMMA SALLI WASALLIM ALA SAYYIDINA MUHAMMADIW WA ALA AALI WA ASHABI BI ADADA MA FI JAMI'IL QURAANI HARFAN HARFAN WABI ADADI KULLI HARFIN ALFAN ALFAN.

"O Allah! Send your blessings and peace on Muhammad, our Master, and on his Progeny and his Companions according to the number of every letter in Quran and let each letter carry thousands of blessings and salutations in it".

This Durood Shareef is a very sacred one. If it is recited after every prayer, it is said that the reciter will receive the Sawaab equivalent to the recital of the entire Holy Quran. After reading the verses of the Holy Quran, this Durood Shareef should be recited 3 times.

    DUROOD-E-SADAQAH

ALLAHUMMA SALLI ALA MUHAMMADIN ABDIKA WA RASOOLIKA WA SALLI ALAL MU'MINEENA WAL MU'MINAATI WAL MUSLIMEENA WAL MUSLIMAATI.

"O Allah! Shower Thy blessings and beneficence on Muhammad, Thy creature and Thy Messenger, and shower beneficence on all men of faith and women of faith, and Muslim men and Muslim women".

This Durood Shareef is a special one. Hadrat Abu Saeed Khudri (radi Allahu anhu), a close companion of the Holy Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam), says that Sayyiduna Rasoolullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) said: "Whoever does not possess wealth to give in charity, should recite this Durood in his Du'a. It will become a source of (spiritual) cleanliness for him". Hadrat Abu Huraira (radi Allahu anhu) says that the Holy Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) said: "Allah has said, 'If you spend I shall spend on you'". This means that if you spend your money on others - the poor, sick, needy and the orphan - Allah will give you in abundance. But, what if a man has nothing to give in charity? By reading Durood-e-Sadaqah, it will suffice.

    DUROOD-E-WALI

ALLAHUMMA SALLI ALA MUHAMMADININ NABI YIL UMMI YI WA AALIHI WABAARIK WA SALLIM.

"O Allah! Send blessings on Muhammad, our chief the unlettered Apostle and his Family Thy favours and thy Salutations".

Hadrat Shah Wali'ullah Dehlvi (alaihir rahmah) said that his father commanded him to recite the above Durood Shareef as it was the best one.

Hadrat Abu Hurairah (radi Allahu anhu), a close companion of Sayyiduna Rasoolullah (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam), has said that if a person recites this Durood eighty times on Friday (after evening prayers), then his sins equivalent to 80 years will be forgiven.

This is a very important Durood Shareef which brings forth immediate success and satisfaction to the heart and the mind.

Hadrat Zarar bin Auzar (radi Allahu anhu), another companion of the Holy Prophet (sallal laahu alaihi wasallam) says that he used to recite this Durood Shareef and fight with the non-believers. In every battle, he saw that success kissed his feet, and he never lost any battle on any day.

    DUROOD-E-ALI

ALLHUMMAJ AL SALAWAATIKA WA BARAKAATIKA ALA MUHAMMADININ NABI YI WA AZWAAJIHI UMMAHAATIL MU'MINEENA WAZURRIYATIHI WA AHLI BAYTIHI KAMA SALLAYTA ALA IBRAHIMA INNAKA HAMEEDUM MAJEED.

"O Allah! Bestow blessing and bounty on our Prophet and on his wives, who are the Mothers of the Faithful, and on his descendants and on the members of his Household in the manner as Thou conferred blessings on Prophet Ibrahim. Verily, thou art the Praiseworthy and the Glorious".

Hadrat Ali (radi Allahu anhu) said that if any one wishes that he should get the maximum reward for one Durood alone, then he must recite the above Durood Shareef

    DUROOD-E-GHAUSIA

ALLAHUMMA SALLI ALA SAYYIDINA MUHAMMADINIS SAABIQI LILKHALQI NURUHU WA RAHMATUL LIL AALIMEENA ZUHURUHU ADADA MAMADA MIN KHALQIKA WAMAM BAQIYA WAMAN SAIDA MINHUM WAMAN SHAQIYA SALAWAATAN TASTAGHRIQUL ADDA WATUHEETU BIL HADDI SALAATAN LA GHAAYATA LAHA WALA MUNTAHA WALAN QADAAA'A SALAWAATAN DAAA'IMATAN BIDAWAAMIKA WA ALAAA AALIHI WASAHBIHI WA SALLIMA TASLEEMAM MISLA ZAALIKA.

"O Allah! Send thy blessings on our Master, Muhammad, whose light was created before anything else in this world and whose appearance became mercy and signal boon for all the creatures, equivalent to all those created previously and hereafter equal in number with the lucky and unlucky ones; and send thy blessing and bounties on him in the number which is impossible to be counted even, and which may be spread all over, and also that kindness and mercy which has neither beginning nor end, and which is always fresh and fine with your kindness, and the same blessings on his Family and Companions permanently".

This Durood Shareef was very dear and near to Hazrat Ghaus-e-Azam, Sheikh Abdul Qaadir Jilani (alaihir rahmah) of Baghdad Shareef. He ended all his lectures, recitations and writings with this Durood. It is for this reason that it is called Durood-e-Ghausia. It is very sacred, very important, very effective and 100% success.

The Saints says that if a man recites this Durood Shareef 10 times in the morning and 10 times in the evening, Allah Ta'ala fetches him nearer and nearer and loves him a lot. The reciter becomes a Saint himself. Apart from this, he will be safe from all the catastrophes of the world. The Mercy of Allah will start pouring upon him endlessly.

The above Durood Shareef should be read 100 times after every Salaah if possible. Especially after Jummah Salaah, the men should stand together facing Medina Shareef and recite this Durood Shareef with absolute respect.

The following benefits are derived from reciting Durood-e- Radawiyya:

    Faith Healing

    Allâh's Name is a Healing

Uthmân bin Abu'l 'Âs (may Allâh be pleased with him) said that he complained to Allâh's Messenger (may Allâh's blessings and peace be upon him) of a pain he had in his body, and he told him to put his hand on the part of his body which was sore and say three times "In the name of Allâh", and seven times, "I seek refuge in Allah's Might and Power from the evil of what I am experiencing and trying to avert." He said he did so, and Allâh removed his trouble. (Muslim)

    Sûrah al-Fâtiha is a Healing

Hadrat Abû Sa'îd al-Khudrî (may Allâh be pleased with him) reported that some persons amongst the Companions of Allâh's Messenger (may Allâh's blessings and peace be upon him) set out on a journey and they happened to pass by a tribe from the tribes of Arabia. They requested for hospitality from the members of that tribe, but they did not extend any hospitality to them. They asked them: Is there any faith-healer amongst you, as the chief of the tribe has been stung by a scorpion? A person amongst us said: "Yes". So he came to him and he practiced incantation with the help of Sûrah Al-Fâtiha and the person became all right. He was given a flock of sheep (as a recompense), but he refused to accept that, saying: I shall make a mention of it to Allâh's Messenger (may Allâh's blessing and peace be upon him) and if he approves of it, then I shall accept it. So we came to Allâh's Messenger (may Allâh's blessings and peace be upon him) and made a mention of that to him and he (that person) said: O Allâh's Messenger, by Allâh, I did not practice incantation but with the help of Sûrah al-Fâtiha of the Holy Book. He (the Holy Prophet Muhammad, may Allâh's blessings and peace be upon him) smiled and said: "How did you come to know that it can be used (as incantation)?" - and then said: "Take out of that a share and allocate a share for me along with your share". (Muslim)

Sûrah al-Falaq and Sûrah an-Nâs are a Healing

Narrated Sayyidatinâ 'Âisha (may Allâh be pleased with her): Whenever Allâh's Messenger (may Allâh's blessings and peace be upon him) became sick, he would recite al-Mu'awwidhât (Sûrah Al-Falaq and Sûrah An-Nâs) and then blow his breath over his body. When he became seriously ill, I used to recite (these two Sûrah) and rub his hands over his body, hoping for its blessings. (Bukhârî)

    Du'â (Supplication) is a Healing

Sayyidatinâ 'Âisha (may Allâh be pleased with her) said: When one of us had a complaint, Allâh's Messenger (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) wiped him with his right hand, then said. "Remove the harm, Lord of men, and give healing. You are the Healer. There is no healing but Yours, a healing which leaves no illness behind." (Bukhârî and Muslim)

    Idhan: Permission for Incantation

'Abd al-Rahmân bin al-Aswad reported on the authority of his father: I asked Sayyidatinâ 'Âisha (may Allâh be pleased with her) about incantation. She said: Allâh's Messenger (may Allâh's blessings and peace be upon him) had granted its sanction to the members of a family of the Ansâr for incantation in curing every type of poison. (Muslim)

Appearance of our Beloved Muhammad sallalaho alayehi wasalam

    F598_c.jpg

Muhammad (pbuh) was of a height a little above the average. He was of sturdy build with long muscular limbs and tapering fingers. The hair of his head was long and thick with some waves in them. His forehead was large and prominent, his eyelashes were long and thick, his nose was sloping, his mouth was somewhat large and his teeth were well set. His cheeks were spare and he had a pleasant smile. His eyes were large and black with a touch of brown. His beard was thick and at the time of his death, he had seventeen gray hairs in it. He had a thin line of fine hair over his neck and chest. He was fair of complexion and altogether was so handsome that Abu Bakr composed this couplet on him:

"as there is no darkness in the moonlit night so is Mustafa, the well-wisher, bright."

His gait was firm and he walked so fast that others found it difficult to keep pace with him. His face was genial but at times, when he was deep in thought, there there were long periods of silence, yet he always kept himself busy with something.

He did not speak unnecessarily and what he said was always to the point and without any padding. At times he would make his meaning clear by slowly repeating what he had said. His laugh was mostly a smile. He kept his feelings under firm control - when annoyed, he would turn aside or keep silent, when pleased he would lower his eyes (Shamail Tirmizi).

Prophet Muhammad Pbuh Manners in Eating

    by al-Imam al-Ghazali (ra)

The Holy Nabi (SAS) ate whatever he got [and only halaal food was served to him]. To him, the best food was what all partook of. When the ma'ida (dining cloth) was spread, he used to say: In the Name of Allah, make it a gift to express gratefulness and that there might be gifts in Jannah (paradise). Whenever the Holy Nabi sat to eat, he used to sit as a praying man sits not placing one leg upon another and say: I am a mere servant, I eat as a servant eats. He used not to take any hot food and said: There is no barakat in it and Allah will not feed us with fire, so make this food cool. He used to eat whatever was presented to him with three fingers with the help of the fourth finger at times. Once a tiffin made of clarified butter, honey and wheat was presented to him. He ate it and said: How good it is. He used to eat bread, curry, dates, and salt. Of all the fresh fruits, the dearest to him were grapes, cucumber and water melon. He used to eat gourd with bread and sugar and sometimes with dates. His ordinary meal consisted of dates and water. Sometimes he mixed milk with dates. Meat was his most favorite curry. He said: Meat increases the power of hearing and is the king of foods in this world and the next. Had I prayed to my Rabb (Lord) for eating meat every day, he would have granted it. He used to eat cooked meat with gourd. He liked gourd and said: It is the fruit of a plant of my brother Yunus (as). The Nabi said to me: "Ya A'isha, when you cook meat, mix therewith much water as it makes the broken hearted strong." He used to eat the meat of hunted birds but he did not himself hunt or follow game.

He used to eat bread with butter and like goats neck and thigh. He like gourd among curries, vinegar condiment, dried dates among dates. He prayed for three things and said: These have come from paradise and they are medicines for poison and insomnia. He liked among curries creepers of yellow flower and carrot. He disliked the meat of reservoir of urine. He did not eat several things of goat --genital organ, female organ, bload, urinal meat, goitre, gall-bladder, etc. He did not eat onion and garlic, nor condemned them. He used to eat what he liked and di not eat what he did not like. He did not like to eat the meat of lizard and cockroach, neither did he prohibit them to be eaten. He used to lick up his dish with his hand and said: Most barakah is in the remnants of food. He used to lick up his fingers after a meal so much so that they assumed reddish hue. He used not to cleanse his hands with towel 'till he licked up his fingers well and said: Nobody knows in which food there is barakah. When he finished his meal, he used to say: "O Allah, for Thee is all praise. You have given me food and drink and given me satisfaction. So praise to Thee without expiation and farewell and being nor free therefrom." He was accustomed to wipe his hand well and then wash his hands and mouth with excess water ant take the name of Allah each time. He used to drink water in slow degrees and not hastily in one breath. He used not to blow in the cup of water at the time of drinking and supply food to one by his side. Once he was given milk and honey mixed together but he refused to drink it saying: Two drinks at the same time and two curries at the same time; he said: I don't make them unlawful but I consider them bad for rendering accounts on the Resurrection day as they are additional things in this world. I like modesty and Allah raises up one who humbles himself for Allah. He lived in his house more bashful than an unmarried girl. He used not to order for preparation of any food and eat whatever wsa given to him and remain silent if not given.
