Entering the house of Rahman (azzawajal)

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful and, Peace and Blessings of Almighty Allah be upon the Chosen Prophet. Ibrahim bin Adham (Allah be pleased with him) was once about to enter the bathroom. The owner outside the bathroom stopped him and told him he would have to pay a fee to enter. Ibrahim began to cry and remarked: '[it seems] no one can enter the devil's house without an entrance fee. So how will anyone enter the House of Rahman azzawajal (i.e. Paradise) without faith and good actions?' Moral: This world and all of its contents and blessings are finite. We find that any favour or ease in this world comes at a price and with effort. So how can anyone expect Paradise - which is an eternal abode infinitely better that anything in this world, along with all of its blessings within - without effort and price? Never. The prerequisite for entrance to Paradise is faith and good actions.

  5. In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful and, Peace and Blessings of Almighty Allah be upon the Chosen Prophet. 1) Modesty is good in men but even better in women. 2) Displaying justice is good, but particularly good when displayed by judges and leaders. 3) Repentance from an old person is good, but even better from a young person. 4) For the rich to spend on charity is good, but even greater for the poor. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah azzawajal be upon him) has immensely praised the poor Muslim who donates charity.

    There is cure in righteousness

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful and, Peace and Blessings of Almighty Allah be upon the Chosen Prophet. Sayyidunaa Ibrahim din Adham (may Allah azzawajal be pleased with him) reports that a man from Banu Israel Slaughtered a she-goat in front of its mother. Immedediately after slaughtering it, his hand withered. Only moments laters, a baby sparrow fell to the ground from its nest and wriggled in bewilderment. The man lifted the bird and placed it back in the nest. As a result, Allah azzawajal cured the man's hand from the discomfort. Moral: This story teaches us that there are potential detrimental affects in sinful behaviour and in harming others. Conversely, righteousness and removing harm from others undoubtedly leads to benefit. Therefore we should refrain from harming others and commiting sinful behaviour. If we do sin by mistake then we should immediately repent and perform good, in order to rectify the imbalance caused by the sin. In the story the man commited a sin by sacrificing the she-goat in front of its mother. As a result of causing harm to the mother, the man's hand became withered. However, he immediately showed compassion to the small sparrow and saved its life. hence Allah azzawajal relieved the man from his sufferings.
  7. In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful and, Peace and Blessings of Almighty Allah be upon the Chosen Prophet. Sayyidunaa 'Abdullah bin Masud (May Allah be pleased with him) relates that every night, the lesser devils report to the leader of the devils to inform them of their daily satanic activities. One devil remarks that he made such and such person commit adultery, another remarks that he stopped someone from performing prayer and so on. One particularly evil devil remarks that he prevented a child from reciting the Quran. Upon hearing this the leader of the devil shows great happiness, hugs and congratulates him. He seats him nearby and remarks that he has in essence done something of great value. Moral: We learn that the greatest effort of the devils is geared towards preventing Muslims from reciting the Quran. This is because the Quran explains the path of righteousness and warns of the dangers of evil, a matter that the devil dislikes. We also deduce that the devil loves dearest the one who does not recite the Quran himself and prevents others from reciting it. According to a Hadith, Allah azzawajal loves dearest the one who recites the Quran and teaches it to others. The choice is therefore ours; do we perform the most beloved action of Allah azzawajal or the devil?
